First of all, huge thanks to Ultraling and Maverck for having done most of the work and making this campaign possible. Both of them were awesome about letting me use their stuff to put this thing together. These are originally Ultraling's maps, found here in sc2mapster. I picked them up a long time ago and slowly worked on them, editing terrain, adding all kinds of flavor here and there, including Maverck's Brood War mod, and this is the result.
Features
- all 10 original missions + the tutorial
- original SC1 units and structures with original stats, including custom models
- original SC1 Terran soundtrack
- all the dialogue, voice acting & other miscellaneous text from the original campaign
- classic unit decals, such as Alpha Squadron, Sons of Korhal etc.
"Artistic License"
(some notable differences from the original campaign)
- Medics - to balance out the units Brood War style, and to provide more options to the player
- extra "hero" abilities: Kerrigan has the snipe ability, Raynor can replenish Spider Mines
- Mission 4 "The Jacobs Installation" - third person mode (optional)
- two difficulty levels - with a somewhat more aggressive AI than in the original, in order to provide some challenge to the average player

How to play
- extract the mod file (SC1BWmod) to your "Mods" folder in your Starcraft 2 install directory (NOT the folder under "My Documents")
- extract the map pack to the "Maps" folder in your Starcraft 2 install directory (create the folder if it doesn't exist)
- extract the Campaign Launcher & setup to the same "Maps" folder (not the campaign folder)
Campaign Launcher installation:
- launch the Starcraft 2 editor
- open the setup map named SCMRsetup in your Maps folder and click the "test document" button on the top right (or press ctrl+F9)
- wait until the launcher loads and you're at the title screen, then save the game and exit the map (press esc or F10 to open the game menu)
- find the save file (named "Starcraft - Mass Recall" by default) in (your home/documents folder)/Starcraft II/Saves/VersusAI
- copy or move the save file to the saves folder under your account folder (your home/documents folder)/Starcraft II/Accounts/.../.../Saves/Multiplayer (for example; any of the save folders will do)
- Done! You can now log into the appropriate account and load the save from the load game-screen. You can use this save to play each episode.
more info:
- You can copy the save file to whatever accounts you want. For example, if you want to play offline, copy it to your guest account folder.
- If you're unsure of the right folders or can't find the Starcraft II documents folder, log into an account of your choice in SC2, go to the load game-screen, click on a save and click the "show in folder"-button. It will take you to the appropriate saves folder.

Also, what is your battle.net region? This could be a localization issue.
@Johnnythewolf
I tried that and still nothing. It says unable to load map :(
@ Dark0ne
It's because the "Load Next Map" is set to look for "Rebel Yell/Terranxx.sc2map
Create a "Rebel Yell" subfolder in your "Maps" folder, and put all the campaign maps inside it.
I'm digging this mod a lot. But i'm playing this on mac not sure if it different on windows, but when i finish a mission it doesnt automatically move to the next one, i have to exit starcraft and reload the next map..... Could there be a update that leads you stariglty to the next map?
Map package 1.02 is out, featuring some amazing terrain rework by Johnny the Wolf! Big props to him for the effort.
Eledzar:
You don't see Raynor there, do you? Losing when killing any unit does indicate a problem with your mod file. All I can say is that the file needs to be in the Mods folder in your Starcraft 2 installation directory. Not your My Documents folder, that is. And make sure the file & folder names are correct (don't rename the mod file). That's all I can think of.
I just redownloaded the files, and made sure they were in the correct folders, but I'm still having the Issue..any more suggestions?
The folder MUST be called "Mods". If you name it "Mod" or anything else, no wonder you're experiencing problems.
@johnny
Even if I kill a zergling on the first mission the mod is telling me that I lose.
I have placed it in the "Mod" folder and it is in the main directory. I'll try fiddling around with it (shifting it to another location) to see if that does anything.) If you find something that might solve this let me know, thanks.
@ Eledzar
Have you placed SC1mod.SC2Mod in the "Mods" folder? If there isn't one in your main SC2 directory, create one.
Jones,
Thank you so much, I appreciate your response, I figured out how to start the mission, now the problem is that anytime one unit dies, then the mission fails. (I believe its just if my units die, not the enemies) but either way I think its a glitch, your thoughts?
I accidently put up the Maps in mods... LOL opps... I felt like an idiot...
When will your next campaigns come out!? I have heard amazing things about these maps cant wit to try them...
Awesome! Great job, I love this!
TerraStranger:
Well, that's actually good to know, thanks.
Eledzar:
You mean when trying to open the mod file? I think I got that message when trying to open it once... it can apparently get a little dodgy, I'm not sure why. First of all, your mod file is in the wrong place. It needs to be in the Mods folder in your Starcraft 2 INSTALLATION directory, NOT the Starcraft directory in your Documents folder. And make sure it's named SC1mod.SC2Mod. Then, just use the map files to play as stated under "Download & How to play" above. Hope that solves your problem.
GnaReffotsirk:
Aw man, you're too kind. I think you'll be happy to see some of your models play a bigger role in the upcoming Zerg (and Protoss) episode :). So hey, thanks for them, I really appreciate the work all you people who make models and other assets do, and you definitely deserve more credit. I'd also be happy to include any of your new model(s) into the campaign.
TheTorrasque:
There's no basic talking animation loop for the portraits as far as I know, and the whole thing is kind of unnecessarily complicated. I'll just say it'd be more work than it sounds like, and the portraits would just stop talking in the middle of their "speeches", so I'm not sure that would be any better.
Why portraits don't speak? I don't know what lip synch is all about
iirc, the mod file was based on an older version of sc2bw. That time when the queen hasn't been released yet.
I'm confident that in the future all these will come to completion.
And I'm always happy to see fellow map makers and modders who remain the way we used to be.
Come to think of it, I'm surprised the campaign doesn't use your custom Queen model, Gna.
Jones, this is awesome. Thank you so much. I'm so exhausted with all the negativity and nit picking from others. Their misguided idealism and perfectionism is just bothersome.
We do what we can for the time being, and by that I've found this campaign to be fun and refreshing.
I wish you guys all the best.
Hey, I've been getting the message "Unable to open archive (Your StarCraft II installation is corrupt. Would you like to run the Repair tool now?): C:\Users\Maurice\Documents\StarCraft II\Mods\SC1mod(2).SC2Mod"
Also, under description it says"Core: Path is not an archive" I don't know if that makes any difference. thanks for creating this really hope I can figure this out soon!
About the Walkyrie, well it was intended to be in original SC1 in the first place. Only it got cut during development, only to be restored in BW, so...
But I noticed you used the Swarm Guardian's model for the Queen. Isn't there an existing SC1 Queen model for you to use?
