First of all, huge thanks to Ultraling and Maverck for having done most of the work and making this campaign possible. Both of them were awesome about letting me use their stuff to put this thing together. These are originally Ultraling's maps, found here in sc2mapster. I picked them up a long time ago and slowly worked on them, editing terrain, adding all kinds of flavor here and there, including Maverck's Brood War mod, and this is the result.
Features
- all 10 original missions + the tutorial
- original SC1 units and structures with original stats, including custom models
- original SC1 Terran soundtrack
- all the dialogue, voice acting & other miscellaneous text from the original campaign
- classic unit decals, such as Alpha Squadron, Sons of Korhal etc.
"Artistic License"
(some notable differences from the original campaign)
- Medics - to balance out the units Brood War style, and to provide more options to the player
- extra "hero" abilities: Kerrigan has the snipe ability, Raynor can replenish Spider Mines
- Mission 4 "The Jacobs Installation" - third person mode (optional)
- two difficulty levels - with a somewhat more aggressive AI than in the original, in order to provide some challenge to the average player

How to play
- extract the mod file (SC1BWmod) to your "Mods" folder in your Starcraft 2 install directory (NOT the folder under "My Documents")
- extract the map pack to the "Maps" folder in your Starcraft 2 install directory (create the folder if it doesn't exist)
- extract the Campaign Launcher & setup to the same "Maps" folder (not the campaign folder)
Campaign Launcher installation:
- launch the Starcraft 2 editor
- open the setup map named SCMRsetup in your Maps folder and click the "test document" button on the top right (or press ctrl+F9)
- wait until the launcher loads and you're at the title screen, then save the game and exit the map (press esc or F10 to open the game menu)
- find the save file (named "Starcraft - Mass Recall" by default) in (your home/documents folder)/Starcraft II/Saves/VersusAI
- copy or move the save file to the saves folder under your account folder (your home/documents folder)/Starcraft II/Accounts/.../.../Saves/Multiplayer (for example; any of the save folders will do)
- Done! You can now log into the appropriate account and load the save from the load game-screen. You can use this save to play each episode.
more info:
- You can copy the save file to whatever accounts you want. For example, if you want to play offline, copy it to your guest account folder.
- If you're unsure of the right folders or can't find the Starcraft II documents folder, log into an account of your choice in SC2, go to the load game-screen, click on a save and click the "show in folder"-button. It will take you to the appropriate saves folder.

Probably it and is unimportant, but with project StarCraft2 - Brood War I had precisely same problems.
BIG thanks to the Authors can we expect a 'brood war' Terran campaign in future? this is a great work just THX !!
TerraStranger:
Thanks man. We try.
Quirriff:
I take it you don't like SC2BW? Yeah, I could've done the data work from scratch, and I would've liked to do so, but hey, I'm just one man. If I'd done that, this campaign probably wouldn't be half as finished as it is right now. There are some things that I might have done differently, like the flying buildings you mentioned for example, but truthfully, I'm not that good with the data editor and I doubt the result would've been as good as Maverck's mod, let alone better.
About the unit restrictions and such, Medics have been an essential part of Starcraft since about '99, so I decided to leave them in there. They weren't exactly UED-only story-wise either... Valks on the other hand, well, that was just sloppiness. I don't mind them too much. Other than that, I'm 95% sure the restrictions are true to the original maps, at least for the player.
The AI was mostly done by Ultraling, so I can't take a whole lot of credit for it, but I like how it feels gradually more difficult with each mission. The Zerg campaign is shaping up to be slightly harder (either that or I just suck at playing Zerg).
I think you'll find that the new version has level chaining. What can I say? Better late than never. And as for your final remark, we wanted SC1 and SC2 to hang out and be friends. We wanted them to be sort of like twins, but people would be able to tell them apart because SC2 would act less awkward. Unless it was trying to tell a story. I hope that clears up any confusion.
You've got some good points and some bad points.
First of all you should have done your data work from scratch not start from SC2BW and work your way from that. You're obviously making use of Starcraft 2's features and I can tell the project has evolved and improved with each new level.
But really you should have done all the data work from scratch not use SC2BWs and only used it for reference for things like the Comsat station which BTW was totally screwed up.
And flying command centres don't know if they're PFs OC or CC, If you did your data work from the ground up you would not have that problem. I mean directional flying buildings is a good Sc2 feature that could have been left in.
However i'll give credit where it's due the AI for the levels mostly matched the AI for the levels in question, But I think you should stick to what the player could make in the original game, and what the computer could build and make. Enemy Wraiths did not have cloaking in mission 4, and they did not have comsat stations or armories so they could not build goliaths.
But I'll give credit where it's due the terrain work is first rate, triggers were fit well and as the campaign progressed you made good use of SC2 features. The levels were nicely mildly challenging, enough to get you interested but easy enough for you to have a relaxing time breezing through the campaign.
But you had no level chaining, which made it frustrating to play on with my hackintosh and apart from the Data problem which I have more than a few issues with continuality like Medics and Valks are UED onlyissues, and inconsistencies sometimes I didn't know whether you wanted to be SC1 in SC2 or a gimped SC2 with SC1 units.
Despite of all technical problems with which I have faced at passage of campaign I can tell that she is really good... That makes not actual all others remaks missions from SC1 campaigns of Terran. As all already is and in excellent quality.
The Zerg campaign is coming Soon(TM). That's all I'm going to say for now :D
Speaking of updates, is the Zerg campaign coming along nicely? I've read that you, Ultraling, are currently working on the Protoss campaign.
Woohoo an update! I'm all over that. <3
After multiple delays, we have a minor update! Check the download pages for details. Due to the nature of these changes, you'll need both the updated mod & map files for the changes to work properly.
The changes have been tested and everything, but if something drastic occurs when playing the updated maps, let me know.
johnnythewolf:
There was indeed a typo, but not THAT bad. =P Fixed now. Jacobs Installation however, not so much.
harrisonmguk:
Starcraft 2 units, how dare you?! Seriously though, we're staying mostly true to the original in the units department for now :)
This takes me back :) It would actually be interesting to have this with some of the new units too. I'd love to play these maps with some marauders/hellions/thors. Just a suggestion, keep up the good work :D
The third-person perspective in "Jacobs Installation" is a nice twist, but it makes the mission borderlines unplayable because of the dodgy camera and shooting mechanisms. Plus in the final room, I could walk through some doodads.
Also, there's a typo in Kerrigan's rank: it's "Lieutenant", not "Lietunenant". :)
Um... ok now Im lost, the mod file cant be open via editor. Its not listed in the Editor Mod Files: section of the map opener, and if I change directory it says its corrupt... WHAT DID I DO WRONG!
Most likely both now...
I put the mod in my Mods Folder, and the maps are extracted to StarcraftII/Maps/Rebel_Yell/Rebel Yell. Im gonna get rid of one rebel yell folrder and see what happens.
man somebody needs to make a video on how do download these maps and load them. I still have no raynor. and if i try to play anyway it just says i loose
Many thanks :) Love the old campaign and I can't wait for you to get the protoss campaigns done cause they are f*ing epic
Whoaa, ok first of all, you did this, right?
* put the mod file (SC1mod.SC2Mod) to your Starcraft II/Mods folder
Your Starcraft 2 install directory, that is. Second of all, what exactly isn't working and what game client aka localization are you using?
ARRG!!! I CANT GET THE DEPENDICYS WORKING!!!!!!
Plz help!!! I cant wait any longer! Ive been waiting for a novice player like me to stand up to the master "BRUTAL" players and say that the first few levels shoudnt have EVERY ENEMY AND THEY ALL COME AT YOU AT ONCE AND ETC! But now it wont work!!!
DOWNLOADING 25% COMPLETE!
This is awsome, downloading now!
Yep, we used super sophisticated text-to-speech software... nah, the voices are from SC1. They're the same voice actors. =P Both actually sound a little too "southern" in SC2 in my opinion.
