Multitasking Trainer
Multitasking Trainer v0.94
This is a map based on the Hotkey Trainer map for bw. It is a great way to practice and improve your multitasking APM and Hotkey usage.
Huge changes have been made with v0.9! check the files page for the changelog.
Concept
You need to manage your base, defend incoming attacks, keep your minerals low, rescue a neutral unit and defeat your opponent all while microing a probe that is constantly being chased by a zergling.
Features
The player has the ability to select his desired race at the beginning of the map as well as choose from five different difficulty settings or create the custom settings that are better suited to his needs. The map is now fully customizable! Also, as of v0.94 "Coach Mode" has been added. This feature displays an alert when you are not making workers as Protoss or Terran or when you have idle larve and Creep Tumors as Zerg. It is indended to further help people improve their multitasking and macro.

This is the first map I have ever made so all comments, suggestions, bug reports etc will be greatly appreciated :)
0.941: The Zergling will chase my probe, but never attack it. Makes it way too easy...
ugh, i think the waypoint limitation is really making it way too hard. what kind of starcraft player looks at his scout all the time throughout the entire game?? imo, i think its ridiculous. i think it would be better if you put a lower waypoint limitation like 3-5, or just remove it all, like it is in the real game.
Lol....I found out what happens if you kill the zergling. =]
Anyway, I always loose because of the zergling. It deserved to die.
I actually found this a very difficult map because I still don't know how to make my units build a series of buildings or move a series of moves. This really frustrates me so that's one thing I could have help with. Also, I still can't figure out how to actually save the Executor. I found no bugs, just a few problems that I need help with understanding that could help me be a better player.
Edit: Actually perhaps there is a real problem. I tried building medivacs to move the executor, but the weren't building. I had plenty of supply space and plenty of resources but they wouldn't build. Perhaps this is a bug for terrans.
0.94 The time is out before the game is started
same as zoni
zergling wont attack the probe and just follows it
all this time i thought i was doing good :(
the zergling didn't attack my drone! what should I do?
I really enjoy playing your map, and I think it's completely changed the way I play Starcraft.
At first I found even "very easy" to be seriously frustrating. But in working through techniques to get everything done I've really learned how to abuse the hotkey system.
Now I can beat normal with Protoss pretty casually, and I've managed to beat normal with Zerg as well.
Now that the beta is starting up again it will be interesting to see how my game has improved.
I believe i may have found a bug.
I'm playing on Very Eazy, and I am successfully completing all of the objectives. My build order is wack, but it's working. However each time i reach the end of the game my "Macro Mechanic Reached" warning appears and I lose.
I am keeping my minerals low, 200 on average. Way below the threshold. One of two things is happening.
Edit: I have tested this and it is definatley the following problem.
2) The total production count is counting towards total minerals available. I.E. if you were to cancel all of your production it would go past 1400. This should not happen. near the end of the game i usually have 5-6 rax, 1-2 Factories and a Starport, all producing units to keep my minerals low, ussualy between 200 and 500. Edit: I tested this by making one marine while my minerals were close to 1400. I proceeded to lose the game at 1350 minerals.
Thanks for the great map!
Edit 2: Also, in Very Eazy mode the "Warning: Macro Energy high" warning appears even though there is no requirement to keep it below 200.
Also some suggestions. A summary screen after victory or defeat. Including: Time left at victory/defeat, probes killed/left, highest mineral count, highest energy count, executors saved, total resources mined/spent. Resource Value lost, Average APM, etc.
It is a great training tool, but without a benchmark it's hard to improve.
An example of my last win:
Difficulty: Very Eazy Outcome: Victory Time Remaining: 5:26 Probes Remaining: 7 Highest Mineral Count: 920 Highest Gas Count: 122 Highest Energy Count: 87
Etc. etc.
Nvm I didn't put him at the beacon :F
How exactly do you save the executor? I picked him up with my overlord and dropped him off at my base and I still lost after I killed the Terran base.
"The objective for not exceeding the energy limit now applies to multiple Queens/Nexi/Orbital Commands."
it doesn't say this in the objectives might want to add that
I'm not clear on how to keep the probe alive, even giving it my full attention the zergling catches up to it and kills it.
@vallcar :) you would never use build like that in a real game :)
I beat normal but i cheated a little. So, I do a normal beginning build. 10 supply 12 barracks 13 gas 15 gas then... 16 E.bay followed by a planetary fortress that with a few siege tanks = win against both waves. Then you build tanks and marines while saving the toss. after you have 4 to 5 tanks, you use a barracks for sight and pull your enemys into your tank fire. My probes begin to die here cuz of the tank micro but if you have enough where you can way point em to stall their deaths, you can win.
hi! great map! I have kinda... dump problem... I play terran, on normal... I don't have problem with multitasking, my probe practically never dies... but comp beats me... what kind of build order do you use with terrans? (on normal)
Oh ma gawd i can't even handle the zergling chasing my probe. Well I can.
I just can't do it while building an army. (yes I tried shift+rightclicking)
@ vallcar macro energy means that your race specific energy units should be used. For example the Zerg has their Queen with larva, the protoss their crono boost and the terran their mules etc.
But I think it is a bug if you try to create an infestor for example the macro energy raises also with it and you can't do anything about it.
