Legacy of the Confederation (Single Player Campaign)
Welcome to Legacy of the Confederation ("LotC")'s base of operations on SC2 Mapster. LotC first appeared in 1999 and 2000 with 21 missions for a primary single player campaign, fully voiced. A mini-campaign ("Fallen Angel") was created a couple years later. We have now resumed work on the LotC campaign for SC2
If you want to 'see' the SC 1 / BW campaigns without having to spend hours of technical maneuvering to get them to work on your system, please refer to our community reviewer JayBorino's channel.

"...Legacy of the Confederation is so gripping that many consider it as good as Brood War..." - Quote from PC Gamer Article
If you want to give the campaigns a 'go', you can visit CampaignCreations.org (at the links above) for the downloads. (If you have issues getting the files set up, JayBorino also has a great tutorial written about this). Just remember you will need the original StarCraft 1 and Broodwar games installed regardless of any other technical wizardry is required.

Want More Info? It's Nothing Newly Posted, however when the campaign was in production in 2010, here are some YouTube links to give you a teaser of things to come.
It will be awhile before this Episode actually hits cyberspace in any form. We decided to move forward with Episode 1 after all and complete the entire series of LotC in SC2 after we began work on Strike First, Striker Harder (The Mission Title for Episode 2's opener).

Hey oracle i dont want to sound rude but how long for more updates u said this month? I feel like a kid again and its christmas (well im old now but it is christmas!) and i have to wait one more day to unpack my presents.
Ps. I dont know if ever someone told u but judging from your forum posts u are the most peculiar person (in a good sense)
@Cer3berus: Go
We'll have to see won't we :)
Hey Oracle, when you put in the classical music pieces for the Admirals office in scenes and such would you mind trying to use Dance of the Knights by Prokofiev? I think it'd fit an intense situation. :D
@SamsaraNoMas: Go
Yes the initial release will be just Episode 1 rebooted.
Wow i cant wait to play this! So basically you already worked on the whole series before but now you are mainly focusing on episode 1?
@TheOracle67: Go
Sweet, can't wait
@CryosFirerush: Go
The short answer to your question is yes. Our first release will be LotC Episode 1, Past Purposes. It will feature 18 missions inclusive of 17 playable and one cut scene. While not a direct port (there are a lot of changes to the missions and a lot more missions added for SC2), this will still contain the core elements of the SC/BW version.
More to come on this with a big update in December.
I just want to ask, is there any chance you'll remake the original Legacy of the Confederation campaigns for Starcraft 2? I ask mostly because I have a hard time getting them to work in SC 1 these days
@TheOracle67: Go
Cool.
@Alevice: Go
Regarding assets for the UPL, my friend, you have 'no' idea what's coming. That's all I'll say for now.
@TheOracle67: Go
Well, virtually we'll also get to see some custom abilities. As the SC2 Data Editor allows so much freedom, you can now launch any projectile and make them bounce, make up units like the Raven does, custom HT storms and all sorts of, shall I resume it this way, crazy shit.
@Alevice: Go
Okay, moving through the comments from oldest to newest.
For Episode 3, I can't wait! I heard a 'rumor' from a little birdie about a certain voice actor over there.
Wait until you see what's planned for that siege.
@TheOracle67: Go
That soudns great. Can I request however a very low tempo ambient music for the siege of geneva? *grins*
@TheOracle67: Go
I really hope there is a slightly custom tech tree for the upl. While the abstractions served its purpose on sc1, there are many suitable assets now to replace default unit models and some of the harder one like the walled city and the turrets.
@TheOracle67: Go
haha you havent seen what ep3 is doing! *winks*
@Gameboyy06: Go
There will be a LOT to test. The integrity of missions and triggers, the synchronization of music and voice, and of course the viability of new unit mechanics. And yes, that includes buildings and tech trees.
Hi Oracle,
First off, HUGE fan of this campaign. I played the original back in the day and I couldn’t put it down :) Are you going to need help with testing out anything in the future, if so I would love to offer my assistance.
@TheOracle67: Go
I was more imagining on LotC 2 with protecting the Cerebrate until you sent if off the black hole. But THAT is one exemplary soundtrack, yessiree!
I won't be giving much away for a little while, but here's something for you all.
30 Second Music Clip
For those of you familiar with Mission 4 of LotC for SC1 (Past Purposes), imagine having 'this' in the background for the macro.

Be careful what you wish for. I plan to do a LOT of weird things with the editor to keep this fresh. We might be learning some of it together.
