Legacy of the Confederation (Single Player Campaign)
Welcome to Legacy of the Confederation ("LotC")'s base of operations on SC2 Mapster. LotC first appeared in 1999 and 2000 with 21 missions for a primary single player campaign, fully voiced. A mini-campaign ("Fallen Angel") was created a couple years later. We have now resumed work on the LotC campaign for SC2
If you want to 'see' the SC 1 / BW campaigns without having to spend hours of technical maneuvering to get them to work on your system, please refer to our community reviewer JayBorino's channel.

"...Legacy of the Confederation is so gripping that many consider it as good as Brood War..." - Quote from PC Gamer Article
If you want to give the campaigns a 'go', you can visit CampaignCreations.org (at the links above) for the downloads. (If you have issues getting the files set up, JayBorino also has a great tutorial written about this). Just remember you will need the original StarCraft 1 and Broodwar games installed regardless of any other technical wizardry is required.

Want More Info? It's Nothing Newly Posted, however when the campaign was in production in 2010, here are some YouTube links to give you a teaser of things to come.
It will be awhile before this Episode actually hits cyberspace in any form. We decided to move forward with Episode 1 after all and complete the entire series of LotC in SC2 after we began work on Strike First, Striker Harder (The Mission Title for Episode 2's opener).

Absolutely.

I would be happy to do some terrain work and provide assistance with some general galaxy editor tips, if you wish. I managed to tutor Lucid somewhat while he was like totes a noob in the editor, mostly regarding a bit of improved workflow and pipelines. I'm far from the best, but at least I can help in making the endeavour less frustrating.
can i post this link/update in the news of the custom campaign initiative ?
@LucidIguana: Go
Same goes to you Lucid. TAC will help cement new interest in the custom community from the outside. It needs to be completed (Episode 3) and needs to be special (which they always are).
I'm at your guys' disposal if I can do anything to assist at all. And great to BE back!
I am crazy happy to see that the SC2 LotC campaign will be done! Good luck!
Badass. Welcome back! Let me know if we can lend a hand at all.
Oh God, I was waiting for this for so long. Thank you, Oracle! Can't wait to see the release!
I want to make a tribute for the music of the protoss sewers level in the fallen angel campaign, it was awesome piece of music real electronic art :D

The assets aren't nearly as important as the developer tools. Whatever Blizzard has been hoarding the past few years they will release once they have no official content left for single-player.
@TheOracle67: Go
I was not expecting a reply, let alone from the creator. This has been a suprising day for me. I guess you were waiting for the las expansion to come out so yo know what assets you had to work with. just 9 more days

Don't let a few measly years get in the way of hope.
I remember loving this campaign when I played it on the original Starcraft and I still replay it every now and then when I get the urge to get sunk deep into the story
but no word from the author in almost 3 years, despite my hopes I don't think this is going to ever be finished
Is this awesome campaign/mod dead? I read you would wait 'til HotS release but I don't know if it's true or it's just dead. To bad we didn't get a chance to play at least one map.
Is there a window of time that u plan on releasing like a release date? like a month after HotS or something? I watched the teaser on YouTube and ths is all terribly exciting. the cut scene, the cinematics, and the mission itself all look great. the voice acting sounds good too. and the combat looks cpu-killing epic! Really looking forward to this custom
So is this FANTASTICAL idea been delayed until HoTS? Or are we going to have the privilege of viewing this brilliance before then?
Are you kidding me? Great story, great advertisement and so forth. But where do you download it?
Great News!! Just when I was beginning to lose hope.. xD Anw, might not be a bad idea to wait for HotS
So let's recap where we are in production:
Mission Design: All map concepts and objectives have been planned out and are just ready to be implemented and triggered.
Maps/Missions: No maps have been designed or triggered
Script: The script is complete for Episode 1, coming in at about 120 pages, with about 2-2.5 hours of dialogue expected for all missions combined
Voices: All major characters for Episode 1 are voiced and the voices have been edited in post-production. There's still about 20 or so 'bit' characters (characters with 1-4 lines, 'extras') that are being worked on
Sound Effects: All gathered, from police sirens, air raid sirens, new gun sounds, ambient wind, and thunderstorms, it's all ready to go.
Graphics: 9 of 12 portraits are designed but still need to be rigged, animated, and imported into SC2. None of the new in-game unit graphics have been designed
Music: All music is ready to go for all missions in Episode 1. Some of the music is custom designed for LotC, some of it is royalty free music that was purchased for use in LotC. Some of it is even a donation from Joel Steudler
Splash Screens: 6 of 7 splash screens for mission intros have been completed.
I've already contacted the graphic artists and work is resuming as I write this. The real question is whether or not to wait for Heart of the Swarm's cutscene and import tools before beginning work on the maps themselves...what do you think?
dman667, this project is not dead. Just went on hiatus to take care of some stuff offline. Work has resumed in full on Episode 1.
So, does anyebody know something more about this? No new official info for over a year.. Perhaps it really did die.. :-(
