Last Stand Alpha
Last Stand Alpha is a survival map based on the following principles:
1) Variety
Instead of simply making enemies harder over time and spawning more, new enemies are introduced as well. There are over 40 different enemy types. There are different ways of dealing with each enemy, often requiring just a bit more than the right units. Enemies do get stronger over time, requiring the adaptation of a player's strategy.
There are also a lot of units at your disposal, ranging from RPG's, to ion cannons that deal area damage to biological units (friendly and hostile alike-but not against your own vehicles!), to tanks that can crush the opposition, to rail-gun platforms that damage themselves to deal an immense amount of stopping power.
2) More != Better
The sheer amount of zombies is limited compared to... other maps. While large numbers of enemies do appear, updates are constantly making the need for more units less important.
3) Simplicity
While the map isn't necessarily shallow, it doesn't storm new players with a lot of attributes and multipliers. Furthermore, gaining units is as simple as having the team get enough kills to acquire more civilians, which are then equipped with weapons and become units.

Gameplay is rather simple. Here are a few things to remember: -Make sure to expand if you decide to go for a strong worker economy. -Enemy kills give bounties every 5 kills. If you have fewer workers, you will get significantly more money as a result from kills. -You get new units by killing enough enemies. The number of kills needed is on the leaderboard. -The game is split into waves, with a boss every 5 waves, and occasional random events and spawns.
