Iron Hammer
A map designed for a 2 vs. 2 matchup. But it's good for a 1 vs. 1, too. Your battle ground is a space platform. The players are starting each one in another corner of the map with a near and easy to get expansion. There is another mineral field between each players. Two of them are rich mineral fields which you can only accede by air. The other two are normal mineral fields which can be acceded by air or ground, but I put a rock on that once to make it harder to get them. All ways lead to the middle of the map which hast enough space for big battles.
It's my first SC2 multiplayer map and I hope you enjoy it. If you have any idea how I could improve this map than just tell me. ^^
Better late than never . I changed the things you mantioned and made it playable for the selled version. Hope you like it
Thx for the tips. I'll see what can I do with these ramps ;-). And about the texture, I'm not so good with making authentic looking places, but I think I can improve it a bit at least. ^^
This map has potential.
I think that you should make the ramps by the starting locations and the 2 different expansions with 1 ramp on each side for each go in a diagonal direction. The reason being that starcraft 1 and 2 buildings are designed with the isometric (diagonal) terrain in mind, meaning that they have diagonal collision with units instead of horizontal/vertical collision.
Having 45 degree buildings up against a 270, 90, 180, or 0 degree ramp will not look pretty.
Also, the pure space platform textured area is kind of bland. I think you could use a couple of more textures just to add some variety and to give a better impression to other people.
Besides those 2 suggestions, I think the overall design concept is pretty cool.
