Heroes and Empires
Map description: Spawn as a mighty hero or a fledgeling empire. Battle your way up to become the mightiest in the land. Empires can hire heroes to fight for them, and command epic armies, whilst heroes can gain resources and experience enough to single-handedly destroy enemy empires. Lay waste to the landscape as you scour all enemies from the face of the world.
Serious map description: A map where you can choose to be a hero or an empire. Empires function in much the same way as the standard SC2 does, although has 3 resources: Gold, Wood and Food. You gain gold primarily from tax, wood from gathering it from trees and food from farms that you build. A hero levels up, gains gold to buy items by killing creeps and getting hired by an empire. That hero will ally with the empire and be enemys with everyone that the employing empire is enemys with. to win, be the last empire alive, or the last hero. Or something. The specifics havn't been done yet.
Map progress: The map is currently in a pre-alpha stage. However, we are looking to upload a basic alpha mode to the US and EU bnet servers. If you wish to test, please leave your battle.net name, code and region.

Is this dead or are you still working on it? I'd really like to see some kind of progress because I loved Heroes and Empires on WC3 ;) Used to play some with FinalLegacy :P

I have adapted the races to fit the classic heroes and empires sernario.
Players will be able to choose between heroes and empires as usual. But tire models will include the basic Starcraft 2 melée models. (including some custom models for kale's bosses etc.)
The terrans and Protoss units are the empire units that progress between t1 t2 t3 and final tier units (including some units in between tiers eg. T 1.5 t1.75 etc) improved weapons can be changed (upgraded ver) by changing the progectiles and name of the units. The citizen, tax, food, recearch, status will be the same systems. Final tier units can be: Infantry -plasma marines -proto medics -photon sniper -gyro sentry (sentry with improved shields) -black Templar -other
(sorry for the following, the word for tanks and stuff) veicles -neo tanks (siege tanks) -hell raiders (hellion) -neo immortals (immortals) -plasma backs (diamondbacks) -other
Air -battlecruiser (then type of class or something. This is also for every air unit) -carrier -mothership -other
Kales forces will consist of numerous types of Zerg units. Kale and bosses will be hybrid units and such.
Well why dont you make them able to buy the advancements but keep the balance im sure it is possible and im talking about the reply i made on the heroes advancement system

I indeed have received permission to create this map. I talked to FinalLegacy and he said they had no intentions on moving to Starcraft 2 and that he would be honored that we remade it.

We plan on making it more of a player vs player aspect sort of game but there is still going to be a computer character in order to enhance the game play. The main objectives though are player vs player and not player vs computer as in the old one. Other than that much of it is staying the same. If I were to revamp it to the point in which you were thinking then the map would be called something else. I chose Heroes and Empires so I could try to replicate and enhance the WC3 version of it.
I loved the map in WC3 and revamping it to a completely different style of game would defeat the purpose of trying to recreate it.

Well you see if they revamp it enough and add a different story line but keep the concept it will be different enough to not really be much of a copy

Btw, you got the permission for this map? I mean like, from the original creators on WC3. I know that it's a different game but still, it would be nice to know that you got permission ^^
Sorry Alfred, I have been on vacation the past few days. You left me your account name but not your character code, I need both in order to add you. The alpha stage is not quite done yet, when it is I will make a post as well as PM all of the people that are wanting to test it.
