DaveSpectre's Assets
I do all kinds of different kitbashes and retextures.
I am currently struggling with burnout and I am learning to live in some healthy balance. That means I will not release models very often, but sometimes I will make some when I feel like it. So I guess you could consider me semi-retired ? Anyway, I am not doing any requests for the moment, until my mind is healed, which might take a long time. So please do not ask any requests of me, no exceptions (Asking for a fix if model is broken is not a problem). But I still want to do at least some models and share them with you. Hopefully you will find some of them useful :)
Stay healthy and don't forget to rest regularly ! :)
Here you can find a list of models I want to make one day (Note that there is no order to this list): Models I want to make
I would also love to continue making story maps that would include my own models (But that's probably only a dream now. I have very little time and energy for that).
And last but not least, I'd really love to do more commander concepts with videos, because people seem to love those, of course those would require additional models and lot of them. You can find the list of potential commander concepts that I currently have in mind here: List of potential Commander Concepts (on the bottom of the page).
Original credits go to Activision Blizzard and their respective authors. Most of my stuff is made from their models, textures and voicelines, which means, don't use my assets for any commercial purposes. Otherwise you are free to use my models as you want including edits. Crediting is not necessary as long as you don't claim the model as your own. For edited models, I'd like to be credited as original author.
Man, your reaper is just... amazing! How can it be so perfect? Damn.

Well, the HOTS art team did an amazing job xD
Hey Dave,
So two things, I'm working on a custom Campaign known as Starcraft Contingency, and I need a good female Ghost model. I was hoping I could get permission to use "Shyla "Honey" Clancy - The Spectre Medic" in my campaign, because I thought it was particularly good and fit very well with the character I'm making.
Secondly, while that model is awesome, when I was examining it in the editor it seemed to be bug. I spent an hour or two messing with it, but encountered various issues including the model repeatedly glitching into a flat and compacted monstrosity, T-Posing at random instances, reverting to holding her plasma gun as if it was a ghost's sniper rifle instead of holding it out at arms length, and randomly sometimes waving her gun around like she's trying to swat Zerglings off of her.
Any suggestions for how I might fix this?
In reply to agentalpha001:
Sure you can use it.
Are you using the m3a animation file included ? If no, that might be the problem.
In reply to DaveTheSpectre:
Yep. The ghost displays properly some of the time, but then other times gets really buggy and glitchy for reasons that I can't identify. Restarting the editor helped a bit, (It no longer bugs like the figure on the left in the first image) but she still randomly T-Poses, goes absolutely still for no reason, or does other things that seem unnatural.
In reply to agentalpha001:
First I'd make sure that in the required animations only the one for this model is attached, no other and no less. Then maybe see which animations the model uses, because there in fact might be some left from Nova's animations and those should be disabled through actor settings.
In reply to DaveTheSpectre:
There were no other animations in the required animation box, and I couldn't find anything under the actor settings that I could alter, however I found that applying the model to KerriganGhostLabUnarmed instead of Nova, Marines, Ghosts, or other such units fixed this issue.
In reply to agentalpha001:
Interesting. I usually test it with prisoner unit. So maybe it acts differently based on units :/
Hi Dave, since the suggestion is already in motion (not to spam newer requests), I just want to second the guy who proposed Team colored Terra. I'd really like it :P
Took a lot of your models, nice work!
In reply to Wonder_Rem:
Ok, I will try to do it sooner :)
Hello Dave.
I wanted to ask what program you use to make your models.
In reply to Gumba_54:
Hello there fellow Zerg,
I use blender, the worst option possible xD Well there are only two options I think. Blender and 3DS max, but the other one is much better, blender causes many models to break, but I still use it, I've kinda got used to it.
something in your reaper the lansflare hero icon under the mask stands out too much. It looks too cartoony. I would recommend you the PicsArt program on your smartphone, where you can make more cinematic icons of mountains. I use it myself.
In reply to khus_name:
Ok, thanks for the advice.
sorry for the OT but... is there a way to extract models from warcraft 3 failforged?
In reply to DefilerRulez:
Well I don't know. It would be better to ask TaylorMouse, he made some overwatch import export plugins. Also I would try myself, but I can't because I didn't buy it and thus I don't have the data. Maybe they can be exported from editor or hrough the cascview like from SC2 or HOTS.
In reply to DaveTheSpectre:
I managed to extract all the files i need, but there's one problem, they are all on mdx. instead of m3. Therefore sc2 can't run them and i don't even know how to convert them without completely fucking up all the files, plus i don't have 3DSmax nor i know how to use it.
Maybe you know some legit converter that i am not aware of
In reply to DefilerRulez:
Unfortunately I don't know any converter that could do it :(
These Tosh Goons are 100% legit, great job Dave
In reply to DefilerRulez:
Thank you :)
