DaveSpectre's Assets
I do all kinds of different kitbashes and retextures.
I am currently struggling with burnout and I am learning to live in some healthy balance. That means I will not release models very often, but sometimes I will make some when I feel like it. So I guess you could consider me semi-retired ? Anyway, I am not doing any requests for the moment, until my mind is healed, which might take a long time. So please do not ask any requests of me, no exceptions (Asking for a fix if model is broken is not a problem). But I still want to do at least some models and share them with you. Hopefully you will find some of them useful :)
Stay healthy and don't forget to rest regularly ! :)
Here you can find a list of models I want to make one day (Note that there is no order to this list): Models I want to make
I would also love to continue making story maps that would include my own models (But that's probably only a dream now. I have very little time and energy for that).
And last but not least, I'd really love to do more commander concepts with videos, because people seem to love those, of course those would require additional models and lot of them. You can find the list of potential commander concepts that I currently have in mind here: List of potential Commander Concepts (on the bottom of the page).
Original credits go to Activision Blizzard and their respective authors. Most of my stuff is made from their models, textures and voicelines, which means, don't use my assets for any commercial purposes. Otherwise you are free to use my models as you want including edits. Crediting is not necessary as long as you don't claim the model as your own. For edited models, I'd like to be credited as original author.
In reply to kabel_gossen:
Glad you like them :)
In reply to DaveTheSpectre:
Holy fuck that's good. Props to you for successfully making a hellbat/truck morph.
In reply to CerberusSC2:
Thank you :) It wasn't easy, but I managed it in the end. Huge thanks to WingedArchon for advice on transfering the parts from the morph model to Hellbat model !!!
The portrait for the Tosh's Goons Dropship is incredible, very evocative. It could also be incredibly versatile. Have you thought about making a male ghost/spectre-like unit that would use it as a head?
I don't mean to make a request, because I have no idea if I'd personally use it, but I found the portrait very striking and thought of other uses for it.
Love your work.
In reply to professorterrible:
Well I don't have any plans for it now. Glad you like it tho :)
In reply to DaveTheSpectre:
Love it. Whether I'm likely to use a model or not, the stuff that people produce here is always fodder for the imagination.
from your list I don't think the female Aberration would make sense, since are the full assimilated strains that came from the Terrans, is like asking for a female Hydralisk.
In reply to zarxiel93:
Well that is not entirely true. Aberration still bears some traits of terrans, namely it's chest, head and arms ares till relatively not so changed. While I agree with you that they have been assimilated into the swarm similarly to how pretty much every zerg unit came into existence (Hydralisk, Mutalisk, Roach, Overlord ...). So yes, the Aberrations spawned by Zagara, or Kerrigan in campaign should probably all look the same, in this case male (Maybe because for Terrans usually men tend to be physically bigger and stronger, so maybe that transfers to Zerg as well).
But the original Aberrations were a product of agressive deep mutation caused by the Zerg virus. That way it could've also transformed female Terrans, just like it could have made them into just infested Terrans, Volatiles and probably many more forms. Because 3 variants are surprisingly low when you consider how mutating the virus is and that Kerrigan did many different experiments with it.
Female Hydralisk really is nonsense. However if Slothien had genders, there surely could have been infested female Slothien and male Slothien. So maybe all Hydralisks are female after all ? xD In the end it doesn't matter as their reproductive organs become useless for the swarm, or are completely removed / changed. In this matter there can be male and female variant of "Infested Aberration", but not of "Swarm Aberration". It's easier to differentiate with different names as in the case of Hydralisk.
That being said I think female Aberration is still more logical than the Female hybrid model with boobs I was requested to make ...
In reply to DaveTheSpectre:
yhea, your argumentation make sense
In reply to zarxiel93:
I'm really glad you agree xD
In reply to DaveTheSpectre:
All Zerg units that have their primary focus on combat (Lings, Roaches, Hydras, etc.) have no gender (Infested Terrans that kept most of their physical Terran traits kind of don't count). I mean, abberations are not really human anymore. This is nonsense in my opinion.
In reply to Gumba_54:
They're still partly human, they're like Terran/Zerg centaur. Their upper body and head still resemble humans, the explanation is in the comment above. "Swarm Aberrations" - the ones you have in campaign and as Zagara in co-op indeed are not humans and thus look all the same and are spawned from Larvas and their Human-like physiology was created from scratch by Zerg.
The original "Infested Aberration" are in fact Terran / Zerg hybrid, just read this: https://starcraft.fandom.com/wiki/Aberration, first few rows and you see clearly stated as Infested terran ...
Maybe the wording wasn't correct, Female Aberration is a nonsense, since aberrations are so mutated that they hardly posess any gender, but "Aberration mutated from female Terran" is not a nonsense.
Also Zerg usually adjust the species when they fully assimilate them, so I guess the Aberrations Zagara incorporated into the Swarm maybe should not have Terran look anymore and could for example have some crapace on their heads & chests.
These orc bunkers are pretty dope and love the S.C.B recolors (they look very cute)
In reply to DefilerRulez:
Glad you like those xD
Ahahahaha, do you think Mira's Bunker has enough spikes? :'D
In reply to Xaranalamas:
Now that you mention it, I think I could fit a few more in there xD
Why does Mira have such a love for Mad Max and Fast and Furious?
I don't know, but your new factory fits it perfectly! Good job!
In reply to Gumba_54:
I was a bit worried it doesn't fit too much. Im glad you think it does :)
Thanks for all these amazing models!)
Oh my Overmind, that is one long list o' tasks...
