DaveSpectre's Assets
I do all kinds of different kitbashes and retextures.
I am currently struggling with burnout and I am learning to live in some healthy balance. That means I will not release models very often, but sometimes I will make some when I feel like it. So I guess you could consider me semi-retired ? Anyway, I am not doing any requests for the moment, until my mind is healed, which might take a long time. So please do not ask any requests of me, no exceptions (Asking for a fix if model is broken is not a problem). But I still want to do at least some models and share them with you. Hopefully you will find some of them useful :)
Stay healthy and don't forget to rest regularly ! :)
Here you can find a list of models I want to make one day (Note that there is no order to this list): Models I want to make
I would also love to continue making story maps that would include my own models (But that's probably only a dream now. I have very little time and energy for that).
And last but not least, I'd really love to do more commander concepts with videos, because people seem to love those, of course those would require additional models and lot of them. You can find the list of potential commander concepts that I currently have in mind here: List of potential Commander Concepts (on the bottom of the page).
Original credits go to Activision Blizzard and their respective authors. Most of my stuff is made from their models, textures and voicelines, which means, don't use my assets for any commercial purposes. Otherwise you are free to use my models as you want including edits. Crediting is not necessary as long as you don't claim the model as your own. For edited models, I'd like to be credited as original author.

Ah, I see, that's quite unfortunate and true that Tychus' model is already cool.
I noticed on one of the models you wanted to make, a model for Delta Emblock? How would you accomplish the design for her, I'm curious to know since her unit representation was only a female ghost in the campaign.
Ah, now I understand, but still it's a good model for Tosh's goon.
In reply to hellobgs:
Can't improve on perfection haha xD Just a guy with minigun bigger than himself ... anything more would be too much :D
I intend to base her on her comics appearance :)
I think I somehow managed to make it fit the theme, but I'm still not happy with it. I just wanted a frontline unit for Tosh.
That frostbat looks like a 40k terminator with double melta laser guns, amazing textures and model

Glad you like it :)

Makes a Red Alert 3 Cryo Legionnaire for StarCraft 2
In reply to Gumba_54:
Sure if it is similar ... but I didn't even know this unit existed
But the idea was actually created this way: I was planing to make the Tosh commander concept, but I was missing a frontline unit. I didn't want to use marauder since Raynor, Mengsk and Nova already have them.
HERC might be cool and unused, but I didn't see it fitting with Tosh too much, so I'll leave it to another commander, maybe Valerian or Warfield ? Well ... it doesn't feel to fit them either, it fits best for Swann with it's Kel'morian look, but doesn't have Barracks ... :/ Or maybe Han&Horner with some crazy junker stuff, but they already have their units. Hopefuly I will find a fitting commander for HERC in future :D
So I thought maybe some special firebat would be cool, since only Raynor has those (Yeah I know Tychus has all thhree - Herc, Marauder and Firebat, but those are heroes so I don't count them). I was even thinking about naming it Pyromancer and making it have ranged napalm projectiles. As cool as it might sound, the range would negate the main purpose and that is being a frontline unit ... Anyway the original design of Pyromancer was partially transfered to Blaze's black&flame skin I made.
So I was a bit lost and asked my friend if he has any idea and he said that a firebat with liquid nitrogen would be cool, a nitrobat. And I was like, hey you mean Frostbat ? Because I've already seen this unit made by hammer107 and also seen a fanart of it. Initially I wasn't sure on this idea either as I thought it wouldn't fit Tosh's design theme. But on the other hand it would fit the frontline unit and also the overall theme for Tosh being a commander with high CC capabilities. But I think that in the end I made it's design fit Tosh's Goons and also make sure it says frostbat when looking at it.
And that's it !
I think your skins that you made is better than Blizzard

Thank you :D
Still flexing on Blizzard with dat Blaze i see
In reply to DefilerRulez:
Yep xD
Hey, the Umojan Medic is missing textures. Can you please help me and tell me if it's broke or I didn't download something?
In reply to Stormpants01:
How is it missing textures? You've uploaded the textures to Assets/Textures? If so, it's good as gold.
Well, actually, it could a dependency issue. Make sure you've logged into the editor and your map has at least the void dependency.
In reply to CerberusSC2:
So I didn't download something. Thanks a lot, I know I may have said this twice, but I'm in dire need of SC2 Editor Tutorials.
In reply to Stormpants01:
If you have the textures in Assets/Textures/ and have your map set to LOTV and updated, then it should work fine.
In reply to DaveTheSpectre:
Updated, as in, closing the editor then coming back in? Do I need the LOTV Mod or LOTV Campaign story? I'm not too good with all of this, so I don't quite understand.
In reply to DaveTheSpectre:
Okay, I tried doing that, tried importing again, but now they're still white textures. Do I have to download any other textures before I import? They're at the right location, all the files are fine. I have dependency set to Void and Nova and Glue, I don't understand it.
In reply to Stormpants01:
Well then I don't know. Only thing might be, that you don't have the game updated for quite some time. Otherwise I have no idea why it doesn't work.
In reply to DaveTheSpectre:
The medic is just missing her legs and back thingies textures. The shield and top is fine, but just some parts of the model are missing. I have my dependencies set to Void mod and my game is updated, I just don't understand it. This is why I hate computers lol. Am I supposed to apply the textures on the medic somehow? Because the textures look fine, the model is not, so maybe I'm supposed to apply them?
In reply to Stormpants01:
That's where the problem is, you have it on Void mod :D (That's a multiplayer dependency) and there are no Medics in Multiplayer, you have to set it to void campaign. The legs use textures from default medic.

I just slammed my head into my keyboard because of how much I suck at SC2 Editor. Thank you so much, you did a good job with your models, they look really nice.
