Cat and Mouse
Overview: The classic cat and mouse redone for SC2. Just like the sc1 version, but built much better. Gameplay: A multiplayer map only. The cat(s) is randomized out of all the players playing. When a mouse, your job is to kill all the cats. When a cat, your job is to kill all mice. Cat has 2 sources of income. Various gold bases around the map. You gain more mineral income, but is also more open to cat.
Has been released onto US server. If you wish to release it on another server, please tell me so I can note it here and send you the latest version.
With the new battle.net system, I am reuploading the map.

The thing is, it was popular, it was popular on US, and EU at one point too. Until they have a different filtering system other than popularity, or until the map is popular, I'm going to wait.
It was popular at one stage on Sea....but then that was before 3.0 and people exploited the early Mutalisk
The new kicking systems I added are doing that. I've been looking at the team choice.
Edit: I sent nyteblade, the newest version of the beta. It should fix the problems. If not, then it fixed most of them.
Edit2: k, I sent a newer version to nyteblade. It does fix the problem. The team choice part, I'm still working on, but it appears if someone votes, its fine. As your on SEA, once you get the 1.1 patch you should go onto US and play there, as I can quickly update there.
Edit3: I fixed the team choice bug. It shouldn't be a problem anymore. It waits for everyone to vote now, instead of at start.
what nyteblade said is correct cotcan .. i got a full lobby (on sea version) have tryed it on both Custom Mode + Cat N Mouse Mode.
the teams seem slightly bugged. i mean as a cat i didnt have the view of any mice but when i killed the debris at start + mice buildings / units it counted as friendly fire and kicked me.
You must be in EU, the person who uploads the map for EU, isn't going to do it. Its an open beta other than that.
Got a small question. Is the 3.0 Beta a Closed or Open Beta, because if it's open i Would like to know how I can get it, sice when i click on download i only get the 2.1 Version. Also in B-Net every Cat's and Mouse Original is the 2.1 Version or 2.2 but no 3.0. Thanks
We didnt pick anything, we had the screen show up for about a second or two and then it vanished
Thanks nyteblade, that is a bug. That's one of the reasons I put it into beta. To find these problems. The voting system only stays for as long as takes you to vote, or until 15 seconds. I'll look at the system and modify the kicking system.
One question, what did your friend vote?
With the 3.0 map, i know it is in Beta and im just pointing things out. When I tested with my friend (just 2 of us) There was only one mouse and a cat, i could control my mouse fine, but my friend couldnt control the cat, instead he is my ally. The voting system at the start only stays for about 2 seconds and then disappears. And i think for just killing rocks we got kicked as team killing etc, and then it said " was victorius" (the space as in the player which was none)

3.0 is in alpha, and because of that balance has changed. Thus I don't even think they are in there anymore. When I say balance has changed, I mean it has changed a lot. Cannons just don't go as far as they used too anymore. While it is in alpha, the new features above are probably are things that will make it to the final version. I can assure you, that it will be a totally different game when you play it in 3.0.

well....when im playing as mouse -i usually get a forge and start SPAMMING cannons all over the place and i allways make cannons around my Mouse so it will be secured against Birds so.. when i have enough cannons i build some by the cats extractors and by "some" i mean ALOT. As a result if the cat haven't upgraded hitpoints (you know that +30000) it will get ownd if it tries to kill my cannons xD
but i allways forget to get the anti air for the pigeon/broodlord O: and then i loose half of my cannons or something :( thats usually what happends if the cat doesn't do one of those shitty strategies XD
Those are valid bugs, srsyjd.
1. This probably means I should make the upgrade cost more. The only reason why the upgrade is there is the Mouse Energy Ray (void ray) buff. I'll buff up the Mouse Energy Ray with a upgrade that doubles the damage to massive. I think I'll throw in a ground counter for that Cat while I'm at it. Mouse Energy Strikers would do a good amount of damage to the Flying Squirrels.
2. I was actually going to do something else in 3.0 that would fix this on the side. The Cat has to get an upgrade to unlock units on the tech tree. The first level would unlock the bird and roach. Birds are also weak to Mouse Fighters (phoenix) and Mouse Energy Striker (immortal). The Mouse Energy Striker can attack air, and does wonders to armored units which the Bird is. Ether way, the problem is fixed or somewhat solved.

so i've been playing this game for a while now and i really think that cat is overpowered

The "cat" is pretty strong... but you can easyli fend it of with 10 cannons or something BUT the upgrade that gives it +30000 hp is crazy once you have that and your cat has 100000 hp its allmost impossible to kill ... well then you barely sqeeze a few voidrays out before he kills your base but then he get a corrupter-/-flying squirrel and kills them D8 what can you do to stop it??? (i know that phoenixes are damn good against corrupters but you cant get them in time)

the birds are soooo overpowered i found a strategy where you get a really early bird and just snipe the enemy mice 1 by 1 even before he can get enough cannons to kill the bird...
i really think birds should have less damage against mice or just be slower
Poffik is right, that's why I made the broodlings unable to be killed. Its so the broodlord actually does some damage, and can get balance out mass cannons, which people seem to like to do.
it's not a bug, broodlord is exactly for that
to take out fully defended base, if the broodlings were killable broodlord would be useless
lol alright, and not sure if its a bug but it seems that the broodlings from the pigeon cant be attacked. I was watching the Pigeon take out several cannons and they didn't even attack the brood lings
Well that person is wrong, nyteblade. Pidgeon is a person, while Pigeon is a bird. You can check dictionary.com for it if would like.
Someone has pointed out whilst playing the game a very minor problem, a typo of Pidgeon(Brood Lord) its spelt as Pigeon, not that it really matters but its just a little thing you could fix
