Cat and Mouse
Overview: The classic cat and mouse redone for SC2. Just like the sc1 version, but built much better. Gameplay: A multiplayer map only. The cat(s) is randomized out of all the players playing. When a mouse, your job is to kill all the cats. When a cat, your job is to kill all mice. Cat has 2 sources of income. Various gold bases around the map. You gain more mineral income, but is also more open to cat.
Has been released onto US server. If you wish to release it on another server, please tell me so I can note it here and send you the latest version.
With the new battle.net system, I am reuploading the map.
Patch Notes
Version 2.5.0 has been released, for patch notes go here: http://www.sc2mapster.com/maps/cat-and-mouse/pages/patch-notes/.
2.5.0 Patch Notes:
- Fixed a bug that made mice unable to win, when both cats leave
I updated the map on b.net, Stewapalooza, you'll have to find the Cat and Mouse Jungle map. Just like I mentioned above.
This map is bugged to hell... fix it... please...
That's suppose to happen. When you lose your last mouse, you lose everything. This was a function in the sc1 cat and mouse. It helps tell the cat who is left and who is not. Like in sc1 cat and mouse, you can rescue mice and in my version get a nice reward.
Whenever a zergling attacks a mouse, that player's entire civilization is destroyed. Workers, buildings, armies, etc, etc. Everything is gone.
1. I noticed that it did that, but the triggers say it should work the way it was suppose to. I'll try using different triggers. Edit: While I was making the alliance triggers for the random of the cat, I realized that I had only done the alliance triggers for player 1, 7 and 8. That's fixed now, and will be in next patch.
2. Yes, I'm working on randomizing the cat. I'll try to get it in the next patch.
3. The cat is suppose to theoretically, get air units by the time mice get robo. I'll make them more costly. The upgrades are from feeding them, if they kill a nexus they get 5 minerals, pylons are 1 mineral. I'll add some tips for that in the next patch. I'll shorten the attack distance.
Edit: New patch is available to the right.
I played this map a couple times today and noted a couple of things: 1) The map doesn't set alliances properly; some mice are allied to one or both cats and not all of the mice are allied at start. 2) In it's current form, there has to be a full house in order to have the cats, because the cats seem to be the last slot on each team. May be if you did some sort of random cat assignment this could be avoided. 3) The cats get air units way too quickly. Anyone with common sense goes straight for air units as cat, and they are insane with upgrades. The brood lords are a bit overpowered too, may be reduce their range to within turret distance. Air units might need to cost more, just a suggestion.
