Honorgarde Valley by Daara87
Capture and build bases while fighting to hold the middle base when the timer expires. Uses WoW models to resemble Warcraft 3 with plans to do all 4 races.
The current premise behind this map is to give the player the feeling that they are participating in a medieval fantasy world rather than a scifi world. Almost every unit and building within this map will eventually be using World of Warcraft models, with team colors. Some models will have to be customized to reflect Warcraft 3 units. I will likely use up all 100 mbs of my allotted space. However you will only have to download this once unless the dependencies themselves are updated. The map itself will be small.
At the start of the game each player is given a choice of which race they would like to be. Once you have selected your race you will be given the option to select of currently up to 4 given heroes for that race. Humans have a Paladin, Ranger, Archmage, and Rogue as their current choices.
After everyone has selected a race and hero they will be randomly spawned somewhere on the map. It is then up to the player to choose where he/she goes. It is in the players best interest to capture as many Town Halls, Lumber Mills, and Silos as possible. Town Halls and Silos will provide you with unit income and supply while Town Halls and Lumber Mills serve as drop off points for Gold and Lumber. Town Halls are also used to train Peasants which mine Gold and harvest Lumber. These peasants are also used to construct other structures.
This phase of the game currently lasts 20 minutes and eventually will be adjustable by the host or vote (I haven’t decided or implemented it yet). After the first 20 minutes are up the base in the middle of the map, Honorgarde Keep, will open its gates to be conquered. At this point every player will have to compete to be the last person holding the keep when the timer runs out. Whoever accomplishes this task will be victorious.
I've been busy with real life things the past week. I have been working on the Horde models though. Here's a link to what I've been working on.

I have no plans to release it in Europe until it is nearing completion. So were looking at at least 3 months until then.
The next update will include the Horde, which might take another week or two.

Not sure what the plans of the maker is but i'd say its going to be a very long time before it comes out in the EU.
Why say that?
When will it be released on EU???
My Opinion
I played this map with 5 other people and enjoyed every sec of it. The game play is smooth and simple to learn.
Map Pros
- Easy
- Replay Value is High
- Non-StarCraft2 Models
Cons (nothing that effects game play)
- Sounds dont match characters
- Icons dont match characters
- No Team Victory
- No Victory if everyone leaves
Last thing to note is this map is only really fun with more than 3 people. Yet again for me to get 5 people it took me 30mins and they all left before the game was over. So yet again another great map that will not get great play time because of the custom game system.
Second Play
Decided it was worth another 30mins to play the map again. In the second game we had another 5 people again. The main difference this time was that we allied our-selves into 2 teams. 2v2 (one person quit) When the game ended, I owned the middle base, my ally was defeated and I was victorious. Still some bugs
Third, Four, Fifth Play
Played this game enough with people i invited to get it to page 10. Fun or Not interestingly enough gave me a couple players. After playing this game several times i've concluded that its possible for this to be a page 1 game. All you need is to make the other 4 races. (Thats a lot of work but that would do the trick) Great map and thank you for making it.

That's promising, but what kind of computer are we talking about?
If it doesn't lag on a high-end machine, that's one thing. But what about a Recommended Spec machine or a Minimum Spec machine? (on their respective appropriate graphics settings)
8 at the moment.
sounds nice. thanks
what is the total amount of players? 12?
Yes I will mnadau1992. The map will stay relatively small while the dependencies will be about 20mb's each. This way if the map is updated you won't have to download a large file again. The only time your download will be long is your first time and anytime the dependencies are updated.
To make the map smallest possible, will you be using huge mods?
It look amazing by the way, keep up the good work.
Mike.
I have yet to notice any lag in-game.

in-game its different

To each his own. I think it looks amazing.
My only big worry is that it will be really laggy with that many units on-screen :(
I don't like the use of WoW models, seems tacky.
finaly something different!
I am so looking forward to play this when it's done :)
This looks nice!
I love fantasy :)
