I've had this issue before it usually relates you the user not reloading be page before editing. I think there's also a short delay between the edit and servers responding to the edit.
Since blizzard likes everything to be epic in quality, I'm guessing they'll test it for about 3 months from Feb. 8. Then they will release it about 2 months after that. Just a guess
I replied in the shoutBox over at SEN, but I guess this is more permanent.
You do indeed require 3DS Max to add attachment points to your models.
There exists an .m3 importer plugin which allows you to load the Starcraft 2 models into max and alter them in any way you like. Attachment points function in a way similar to 'bones' which are riggings for the models animations. So the attachment point is 'rigged' to a point in x,y,z space within the model and then called by the data editor and game engine for handing actors etc.
Hmm I'll look into these later. I'll post again once I have finished working on all the suggestions. Thanks
Update:=== (12 FEB 2013)
I've looked into the region attachment method and while doing so ended up creating a custom AI through triggers. Once I've finished polishing it i'll post what I did here. I would still like to know if there is a easy way to attach a point to a unit through triggers.
Second Update=== (16 FEB 2013)
Finished the AI for now. I'll post what I did soon.

I put it in here because after posting this about 5 people asked for Startools. Thought that was a few to many for a short 10 minute period.
Your right though if people read the rules they'll know :)

I'm new to 3ds max. I added the tga file for my character to the maps folder. So why am I not seeing my character's texture in 3ds max?

Well I'll be looking forward to this when it comes out. Until then i'll be using the old tools :)

At least this is a great topic to bring back to life. I'm honestly surprised this doesn't have more people chatting about it.
