Yeah, of course I'm going to create Wizard for War3 Mod. The goal is make creation/modify data objects much easier like the old War3 world editor.
Still each abilities needs to be set differently. So it would be a very long term work.
Currently I planed to make wizards in this sequence:
1. Wizard for Unit/Hero Creation
2. Wizard for modify Common Ability Data
x. WizardS for Create/Modify Spefic Abilites
If you have speical abilites you wanted most, you can post here, and I may able to do them first.
Please remember the wizards are not omnipotent, so not 'everything is possible'.
Also the wizard would be simple like the war3 one, which mean you can modify less things within the wizard. But you can still modify the detail data in the data editor after you created the objects with the wizard. But you can also suggest 'Must Have' properties here so that I can include them into the wizard.
I managed to fix most of the things that broke during the changeover to 3.0, but I am having difficulty getting Drunken Haze to work properly since 3.0.
It slows the opponents, and it ignites the burning effect when they are hit by breath of fire, but it doesn't affect their chance to miss. I fixed banshee curse by changing the validator field from it's unknown target filters to afaktargetfilters, but it's not working for Drunken Haze. I have re-downloaded the mod since 3.0, I have the map set to use latest file.
What should the target filters for drunken haze look like? It shows up as (BcrsMiss45ChanceTargetFilters (Unknown))
These effect are supposed to have unknown filters=no filter.
So Curse should always work. it's not right to add a afakfilter to it.
I just forget to add 'miss' float text for the drunken haze, but it should already able to reduce cause the missing(no floating texts though)
I have updated everything to the latest, and still unable to target ghouls with chain lightning. It only happened since I updated the dependencies to the 3.0 version, previously fine.
It just says "must target unit" when attempting to chain lightning Ghouls. Other targets are fine.
I updated all dependencies to the latest by manually deleting the local folder and re-downloading them, and then replacing the war3 extra and war3 terrain dependencies in the map.
It appears to only affect ghouls spawned via TRIGGERS. Normal ghouls seem fine. It also seems to work when the ghoul is attacking a building. However, chain lightning does not work ("must target unit") when the ghoul has just spawned via trigger and is attack moving or attacking other units..
the thing is, inside this menu it shows for a short second that US local uses different name (Ling Slayers vs Ling Slayer). changing the local shows that it uses Ling Slayer in the US. it let me upload and at 100% it throws the error. pressing the button doesnt help, deleting locales doesnt help, uploading as Ling Slayerz doesn't work too, it says that the DE locale has an error and that it is left out.
Have a look at my post and provide the information of your old editor locale (2.1, the locale of the editor itself, not your map), and the Server you wanted to upload.
i dont need that spell but thx for the offer. But still, i dont understand. How many files are linked with the effect? The effect himself not working alone
There are many models that would require other models as particles.
Has anyone been able to publish their maps since 3.0? I've tried since yesterday, it just stops and won't publish any maps.
The only maps that can be published, creating a brand new maps seems to work. Or loading up an old map that hadn't been saved, that will publish. Then once I save it again, it won't publish anymore.
edit: actually, some of the older maps also won't publish. one did publish though until I saved it again...
Nevermind! Seems I can still publish to the korea region, I'll just move my maps there.
War3 Mod 3.0 published to all regions.
It's just that there is a issue to update one of the sample map in CN region.
pitfall cannot update maps anymore, throws error : published names must match with all names of all languages of the previous version (which it does, never used any other name)
Solution: no idea
whatever
It's possible that you encontered the issue MaskedImposter descripted. But if use for all regions don't work. It's indicated that you get a bigger problem:
The way I see it, the patch seems unified the 'Internal Editor Locale' (Not the formal name, it's just what I call it.) for all regions.
'Internal Editor Locale' was orginally defined by Mods\Core.SC2Mod\Product.SC2Archive, and would affect the publich name for same regions in same way. (perhaps for sensitive word filter? Not sure).
And now with the new CASC format, this file no longer exist.
CN user suffered most for this.(Inculding myself)
I suggest you to provide your orignal Editor locale, and the region you wanted to upload. This may help Traysent to indicate the issue.
So there's no way to make an Actor with the parent of GenericUnitStandard so it has basic events. If CActor is used it doesn't have any events which means it's quicker just to copy/paste a bunch of Actors. And there's no way to set the path of a model?

Yeah. That's the goal. But I will need to release them in time. Since each ability need to be configed differently.
The current planed order is:
Wizard for Unit/Hero Creation
Wizard for modify Basic Ability Data
Wizards for Create/Modify Spefic Abilites
If you have some abilites you wanted most, I can make them first.

I've uploaded the fix.
You only need to upgrade War3 Extra (GA).

Would update the mod soon.

You can list the wizards you wanted mosted.

Each map is a MPQ archive. In the archive, these always be a a file named 'DocumentInfo' (no suffix). It's a txt file that you modify directly.
etc.
change it and put it back to your map.
And use your editor to save your map again.

Intesting, I will make some invistagte.
Do you have test maps for this?

Have a look at my post and provide the information of your old editor locale (2.1, the locale of the editor itself, not your map), and the Server you wanted to upload.

It's called model particle

Just wait there for some time.
The servers are not stable.

Actually. Unifiy 'Internal Editor Locale' is a good thing.
You no longer need to use different client to upload map for certain regions. But the older maps still need to be addressed.
Hope blizzard could allow us to bypass the name check while update these old maps.

Have you seen the official tutorial?
It covered everything.
parent can be set with the element : parentid. And events are just normal field values like any other fields. It's a field named 'On'
