Hello all Gosu mapmakers! My name is Lasse "Enron" Engen and I'm the Editor-in-Chief and GosuTV director for GosuGamers. I have a project going on for a huge event coming up before the launch of the game, but I'm not a map maker myself so I need some help.
A little briefing of the project:
The final project is going to be a video of an interview. It will be an audiointerview with a person most StarCraft and StarCraft 2 lovers know very well, and the videomaterial will be in-game from StarCraft 2. So I need a map that is made as the interview location, and I need to get down close to the units that will be "talking" in the interview, maybe like in the 3rd person shooter maps - that close at least. I would also love a nice setting for the map, it's not decided what the location will look like, but maybe a television set, a bond fire camp - we can bounce some ideas between us.
So I need a flexible map maker who wants to contribute for this video, and will be credited for thousands and thousands of people, who have a lot of time from today until July the 12th when the video must be done. I don't think there will be any major triggerings for the map, it doesn't have to be anything extraordinary, but the map maker needs to know the mechanics of the Galaxy Editor enough to do what they're asked to do. I will record the video using the map, and later edit it, so the whole interview doesn't have to be done in the map, I just need the scenes and the location for the plot.
If you're interested please let me know and I'll give you some more details! Contact me here or send me an email;

I'd recommend splitting up your recruitment. There are plenty of people out there who know how to manipulate a camera in the starcraft editor to create an "interview" in-game and there are also many people who can create a "set" in a 3d program with custom textures, but there aren't nearly as many who can do both.
Guess what i'm trying to say is divide your project into 2 parts, for now get your set made, if you use custom made assets it's going to be A LOT harder to pull off than if you find a way to creatively put together a set using starcraft 2 assets. Once the set's thrown together you just need to find someone who can manipulate the camera a bit (probably the person who put the set together if you just use standard in-game assets).
Thanks for the feedback!
Sucks that Raynor isn't available yet though :O
But yeah, splitting up the work is fine by me, but I'd still need some map editors who are up for it then :) One who does the setting, and another one who does the camera work - it doesn't have to be anything out of the ordinary really; the current idea is "an interview on the frontline" kinda thing right now, a couple of marines talking, being attacked by some units every now and then who interrupts the chat. Something like that.
The interview doesn't have to be cut and edited exactly right in the map editor either, I can record the screen whatever way I want it to be as long as I have "dialogs" and some different angles to use.
Not hard, but you need to set a trigger coupled with some coordinates. If you can provide me with some scenario or an idea I can work something out for you.
Greets,
BoozeWooz

Thanks in advance! :)
Quick question; Is Jim Raynor to be found in the Galaxy Editor? Or will we have to wait for that?
He won't be until Wings of Liberty release.
Good luck with your project, you may also want to check out this forum:

That's correct, we'll get the Single Player/Campaign Data at launch.
Moved to Team Recruitment as well.
you could just use a marine model for Raynor, but you wont see his face and he wont have the right voice

Someone please volunteer, time is running short. I doubt that this will be a lot of work, just need someone, or two.
If no one wants to help, how hard is it to learn to control the cameras in the map editor?

Awesome BoozeWooz! If we can have a talk over msn or skype or something like that it would be great. I'll send you a private message!
