Yo my map that i have created. my scvs/drones or w/e can't use the minerals I painted. It says "Cannot target invunierable units." I have treid everything. The only way I can make it work is if I create the high end minerals as (Player One) and then only player one can use the minerals and so on and so forth. How do I make minerals that everyone can use. Please Help!!!!

Minerals & Vespeine should be place for player Netural if you want anyone to be able to use/harvest them. (just like Xel'Naga Towers)
That actually doesn't even matter.. Whenever I place minerals or a xel'naga tower while having any player other then neutral selected it automatically switches them to neutral control.
@ZeroAme:
Vaild point but if he selected a bunch of units (as minerals are units) and went into the unit properties and changed there player value to one player it will change even minerals and vespene to thoese players. So its possible to accidently select vespine and mineral units when selecting others and changing all there player proprites. Thats what I really meant just was early and came off wrong heh.
Yeah really should be in map development and yes a possible data editor change may of happend, such as changing the minerals race in the data editor to anything other then neutral for example could cause issues. Hard to say without more info.
I still get confused about the Game Variants tool, especially the attributes with all the team settings. And why can't i just do 1 team of 14? do I really need to create a game Variant?
It would be nice to have a tutorial that explains what a trigger library is and how to use it (also how it would work in a mod). Also maybe a list of what the benefits of using them are and an example. A video tutorial would be ideal.
I need a tutorial for creating a "Chain Lightning" weapon with an archon weapon. I'm almost done with my tower defense, but have yet to make the weapon for the Chain Tower, and i just can't seem to find one in the tutorial section

I need a tutorial on how to create an ability with a missile.
like a ball of fire flying from the caster to the target damaging all on its way and exploding then
or a targetless ball flying around the caster in a spiral
I think it would be a great contribution to the community here at sc2mapster, as well as the map making community in general, if some more experienced map makers could throw together a few tutorials not only on how to make custom abilities, but to explain the basics of the data editor and how to use everything. I don't know if this is too much to ask but I think something like this would be very helpful to anyone, like me, who is fairly new to the map editor.
Thank you in advance to anyone who does end up making such a tutorial, and to those who have already made tutorials about anything regarding the map editor. They make it a hell of a lot easier for noobs like me and they are greatly appreciated :p lol.
I was wondering if someone knows or would be willing to share a method for allowing a unit to use a spell (like Psi Storm) on himself without having to select him as a target. This would basically work in the same way as a marine uses "Stim". Just pressing the button would activate the ability, so in the case of "Psi Storm" just by pressing the button it would cause a Psi Storm explosion on your unit which casts the spell.
I'd like to know something that sounds very simple but i havent figuered out yet (as log as i had an working editor). Is there a way to copy Units with all the modifications made to them from one map to another instead of building them again one to one (and probably forgetting some part). I have a projekt in the making where i have a 1 player testmap and if what i've tested works out i impliment it in the 4 and 8 player version, but making it all again from scratch kinda... You know...

Did you modify any units in your data editor? Like the gather ability or the minerals unit?
And this request/help should be in map development. If a mod could move it that would be great.

I'd like a tutorial how to upgrade from one unit to another while changing the model and without triggers.

I'm not demanding, i swear!
Cameras I find they are a real pain and I have no idea how to use em.
A tutorial on how to create multiple dialog buttons, add icons to them.
It would be nice to have a beginners guide to the editor...
I bet other newbies to the galaxy editor would also agree...

Take a look at the lightning spire in this map:

If you have any questions about specifics shoot me a PM, there's a lot of little details involved in the fine tuning.

I'm requesting a tutorial for a Beam Animation on a channeled ability, start to finish.

An in-depth explanation of Caster, Outer, Source, Target, Origin, Unit and Point, if you please.

Flash files (.swf). For example, in a dialog, what method do you call to play the file?
