I Have Yet To Find a Tutorial on How to do this and A Few People Who do not know how, would like to.
I Will be posting Pictures and Text Guidelines to show how each step is done, I might create a video later to show how this is done.
Creating A Button To Zoom Out
Anyways First To start out Open Up The Galaxy Editor And create a new New map document or open an existing one.
Once you have your map loaded up first thing we will need to do is add your camera positions.
So click the "Cameras" button or press C. Now set your view to the default in-game setting by either going to View>Camera>Reset to Gameplay View or you can press CTRL+Shift+C,
Now that We Are At the Default Height Zoom out Using your scroll Wheel untill you are at your desired Height.
Then To The Left Click "Create Camera", And now you should have a camera generated on your map.
Next We Will Need to Open The "Triggers" Window By Clicking The Button on your Toolbar or Pressing F6.
Alright now that we have Triggers Opened up, You need to Create a New Trigger By Pressing CTRL+T And name it "Zoom" And Create Another Called "Zoom Command"
Alright Under "Melee Initialization" Click On Action And Press CTRL+W to add a new action, In the left column scroll down and Find Trigger, And then in the right hand column Select "Run Trigger".
Now it should have added a new action, At the bottom of the window you will see Run Trigger (Check Conditions, Don't Wait Until it Finishes)
Click "Trigger" Select Value at the Source Then Select "Zoom", Leave The Rest As it is.
Alright Next Select the Trigger Document Named "Zoom" at The Left We made Earlier and Click on Action and press CTRL+W To Create a New Action.
Find Dialog in the Left Column and Scroll down till you find "Set Screen Button Border Image", Select it and Click OK.
Create Another Action, In The Left Column Find Dialog And The Right Column Find Display Screen Button.
Now Select The Action You Just Created, And At The bottom You Should See "Display Button 1 of Size (200, 60) with text text at Bottom Right of screen with offset (50, 70) (run No trigger when button is clicked)
You Will need To change the Size from 200, 60 to Something around 50, 35. Change Text to + (You can set it to whatever you would like the button to say but you will have to change the size of the box to fit it, Remember its (x, y) ) Change the position from Bottom Right to Center (You can set wherever you want but for the tutorial we will use center.) Change the Offset from 50, 70 to 0, 0, And Change No Trigger to Zoom Command By Clicking it and Setting Source to Value and Selecting Zoom Command.
Once you Finish it should look something like this:
Next we Need to make sure the button appears to players in game So click on actions again and press CTRL+W and Select Dialog And Find "Hide/Show Dialog Button" And at the bottom change Hide To Show
Now to set it where the button will change the camera view when its pressed.
Select the Zoom Command Trigger At the Right.
Click Events And Press CTRL+W to Create a new Event, Select Dialog From The Left And Dialog Item is Used From The Right and Click OK.
Now At The Bottom Change Any Dialog Item To Screen Button, (Click Any Dialog Item, Set Source To Function, And Find Screen Button At The Right)
Under Actions Create A New Action Find General And Select "Wait For Conditions"
Select Conditions and Press CTRL+W Make Sure Comparison is Selected And Press OK.
Now Select The Condition You Just Made, Click The ( At the Bottom, In The left Select Dialog, And in the Right Find Screen Button, Select it And Click OK.
Now Click Value 2, Set Source to Function, And Select Used Dialog Item.
Now Click Actions Again And Create Another action, Selecting Camera, Then Apply Camera Object.
Make Sure After you create it that The Wait For Condition Action you created is at the top of your actions like.
Now Select The Camera Action you Created And Click "Default Game Camera", Set Source to Value And Select Camera 001.
Next Select 1 Set To Function And in the Search Box Above The Right Column Search For "Trigger" And Select Triggering Player
Then Select Include Target And Change To Don't Include Target.
Because i did not know this lol.... and if thats all you gotta do then why do people create buttons for zooming out? makes no sense if you ask me......
And i also did this for the people who would like to do it this way. or create custom angles. But apparently a little bit of appreciation is to much to ask for when trying to help people =/....
Good read. I have been wondering how to zoom in and out camera height. I'll give it a try once I got back home. Question tho, why would you need to create camera at the beginning? what is that for?
there is no "Hide/Show Dialog Button". where the fuck is Hide/Show Dialog Button ????????????
and I did everything in this tutorial but I can't find even a button in game.
here is a better question... how do you create it so it only moves back alittle bit each time its pressed? not just one huge leap to fully zoomed out? :D reapeat process of multiple cameras? idk
@iMisu:
Whats the point of all this when you can just change the maximum distance of the camera under map game settings.. ?
The reason for it is that sometimes when you change it under the map settings it crashes on ya. so this way your already in game and the game adjusts to the trigger. i tired to change the settings one time to zoom out and the map wouldnt even load. this is why people make buttons to zoom out with. lol.

The Triggers use the camera's that are made to know where to go. When the button is pressed it will zoom to the camera that you have it set to.
Thanks much! For my map i use mouse scroll to change view direction, and buttons to change distance.
there is no "Hide/Show Dialog Button". where the fuck is Hide/Show Dialog Button ???????????? and I did everything in this tutorial but I can't find even a button in game.
@strhsxx:
if you got a different version of the editor its under "SHOW/HIDE Dialog ITEM" my editor dont have dialog button either. must be a different version.
