@Leruster: Go The model I was trying to export is SM_LeeKeeno.m3 but I think it doesnt matter. I get the same error with other models and have been unable to export a single model. I had errors when importing some models too, I guess all of them were portrait models. I'm a total noob with max I'm just trying to learn the whole stuff.
@println: Go I'll give it a try, I'm just not sure how I download that stuff.
EDIT: Hey it worked! Thanks! But my model lost all animations. The animations are there in the editor, but the model is motionless in all of them. What am I doing wrong? Also the exported model is bigger in file size than the original one.
@Leruster: Go My last post is about blender. I managed to import and export it using PrintIn's addon, but my model lost the animations. I'll redownload max's plugin and try it again.
@Leruster: Go You're right, it didn't solve my problem. But I'm going with Blender anyway, so I need solve my other problem lol. Is there a thread for PrintIn's addon?
Pls check animation time. If I open with a old plugins version(1.9) max file, it is necessary to provide all of the animation keys 3200% in the direction of time.
Example:
1.9 ver.: first key 3, last key 400003 Time
2.1 ver.: first key 0, last key 12500 Time
And materials animation does not work (version 2.01 that's good)
Hi, I tried to use the most recent version of the exporter, however I get the attached error when trying to export. I even tried importing the Vulture and exporting it unchanged to see if I had done something while editing, yet it still gives me the same 'File not Found' error. I'm using Max 2010
Create SCII Light using the panel to the right, not the menu.
When exporting in max 2012 I get an error (line 2260). All I did was import an SC2 model, move it in the z axis and then tried to export.

Attach scene please

Ok so could you try to do the same thing but not on max design 2012? Mabye 3dsmax 2011, or 3dsmax2012 but not the Design.
@Leruster: Go Sorry, this is the only version I have, I borrowed it from a friend to learn how to use it.
EDIT: I forgot to say I'm using the latest version of the M3 plugin. Here's one of the files I've been trying to export.
@SoulFilcher: Go
If you want you could try to import/export the model with Blender 2.63 and my m3addon. Worked fine for me.

FockeWulf pointed out that there was a bug during export (Runtime error, file not found), I've re-uploaded a new version.
Please re-download. Sorry for the inconvenience :/
@SoulFilcher: Go
I'll look into it nonetheless :)

Well I'm pretty much flat now...
Theres like 30 ways to animate but the exporter will only take 1 or 2 of them it seems.
And I, of course, have absolutly no clue what those 1 or 2 methods are...
@SoulFilcher: Go
Yes I know, I just wanted to let you guys know that there was a bug and that it's now ok :) It shouldn't solve your problem though :/

I think you could go here http://www.sc2mapster.com/forums/resources/third-party-tools/25004-has-a-m3-exporter-been-made-for-blender/?page=3#p61
@Leruster: Go
Ya my model also lost all of its animations when I tried to export. This was in 3dmax with v2.1 plugins.

Thanks for pointing that out. I've checked one m3 with animated material parameters and it's working. Can you tell me precisely where it's messed up?
@Leruster: Go
plugin test: from 1.9 into 2.1
I attached the problematic files:
