From the video I saw on the front-page, it seems a little annoying that those selection-squares pop-up everytime you click and/or hold down the mouse. I suggest you run the action "Show/Hide Selection Square" on map init.

A lot of the steps are probably outdated or irrelevant, since it was being worked on well over a year ago and the editor's been updated a bit since then. I guess it still works well enough, though, since egodbout was able to make use of it.
Side note: Map is looking good. It's nice to know that my findings were able to help someone out and my time spent fooling around in the editor wasn't a total waste. Can't wait to see what you do with this.

this tutorial is great, only thing
there is a decal max size you need to know, when you fit your texture, its around 270x180 something like this, so if your image is to big, it not gonna work and nothing will show

aka you will nor the map wil be banned :)
have you thought about changing the camera? it would look about a 100x better if it was directly over the map (so the terrain didnt look stretched.
