This is my first ever project using the sc2 map editor. My Map right now is in the designing process. It may not even be the best when complete, but this will be my first amateur project. Future projects will have more effort put in, but I try my beset anyway, since I'm new.
So,
If Jeberson12 can help, this map will start out rts style, where you begin in a main base, with two small bases on outskirts of the main base. The two small bases are mysteriously overrun by the undead, with the bases calling for help. There is not enough time to save them, so your mysterious unnatural force comes to attack you, and you must defend, soon learning allies around your region had been overrunned. O
Eventually, your base gets overruned, the game switches to tps style, where you must go through the interior of your base, where suddenly, all lights go out, with a few dim emergency lights here and there since the generators have been destroyed earlier. Your only option now to escape your nightmare is to find a single dropship at a hanger around your base.
But first, you must find and reboot three generators to open the hangar door, and while your at it, you have to face swarms of zombies.
Once you get the hangar door can open, enter the dropship, and escape into the unknown
This game will be redesigned many times, including my description, since I have so little time, but I will update my description from time to time.
Hope my game comes out right.
Remember, my description may not be what the final game will become.
Nice start and goodluck with this one. I can't promise that I will be here all the time since I'm a busy man. I would recommend doing a search from this forum about technical issues, triggers, data editor, etc.....Lots of stuff here that you can get. Welcome!
Ok, so that means I would have to learn about camera positions, triggers and etc.. Well, every amateur starts from the bottom, and if the learn, they can become experts.
You could also say it's a map in "Planning" or it's an "Idea" or something. Alpha is not a good name until you've actually done something to it. Also, you can ask here if you need any help as well. That's about it. Hope to see some more planning ahead. Maybe a few pictures and even a video? Maybe later. Good luck!
Edit: If you need help with setting up a camera that follows you but sits on a cliff as if a guy was watching you walk by, I can help you with that. I'll have one sometime later. Cya! :)
You can ask and post your needs on the threads similar to your question. As I said, I will try to help you if I have time or If i can peek on your thread for a minute. Dont forget to PM me also. But I recommend that during the life span of your development, 80% should be a self research and experimentation so that you understand the whole map editing thing. You need to understand what you are coding. Then probably 20% on asking other peoples help. If you keep asking, you will not be able to understand and manage properly your project. Especially, that every mapster has different approach. You ask a question, then 5 mapster answer you with different ways, and youl get confused. So you need to understand what you are doing
really nice some people would like to help! I remember when I beta tested the Last Swarm for Jerberson12, just need to know how to save sc2 pictures, and upload them to sc2mapster!
To take a screenshot, click prt scrn above insert key. To upload it to sc2 mapster, you'll first need to go to C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\My Documents\StarCraft II\Screenshots and they should be in there. Then, once you found them and "edited" them if you wanted to, click the attach button on a reply, and browse. Go to where your screenshot was and I think you can figure out what to do next. :)
Sorry if i sound negetive here, but shouldnt people know how to use print screen key and how to upload pictures to the intarwebs before even opening the SC2 editor.... should almost be a requirement.....
Ok done being an ass now.
Good Luck

if anybody knows, where find and how do you spawn the gate that you opens and closes? It's a really important part of my map.
