I have included the image files and their direct links because I can't see if the images are actually loading.
This map is not 100% finished and I've only completed the fog effect and the map layout. I will be doing the terrain and doodads today and tomorrow. I'm looking for opinions and ideas from the community on what should be done differently or how I can improve the map.
The basic idea for this map is to give the terrain a fog feeling. Also wanted it to be a TvsB map with limited mineral access instead of some maps that are filled with lots of minerals. Some of the pictures have the fog layer turned off so you can see the map more clearly.
Also: Credit to the fog idea goes to.... acidragoon. Thanks for giving my boring map a cool twist for melee action.
If you attach pictures to a post directly from your computer, it automatically adds a thumbnail which when you hover over shows you the full pic. :3 Just a notice if you didn't already know that.

Your saying after the post is completed hit attach?
Cool idea, however, I gotta comment (not on your map specifically) - anyone else get a little tired of seeing perfectly symmetrical Melee maps? I understand it's a balance issue but there are plenty of well-balanced Blizzard and user created Melee maps which aren't mirrored (ie: Lost Temple)... and in my opinion they offer greater gameplay challenge and re-playability, since a particular starting location may offer different strategic strengths/weaknesses.
lol Don't mean to offend, it IS a cool concept... just would be cooler if there was some variability in the map.
I have made a few maps that are symmetrical that don't look it. Use different textures and things. It helps but balance is really the most important part I think. Playing an unbalanced map just isnt fun.

I understand you completly this is actually my 4th map. What I've been doing is every other map will be perfectly symmetrical. This just happened to be the one that was symmetrical. but as I said this map isn't finished I just want ideas from other people, so I wil ladjust small thing here and there so it doesn't look so so so... Bland. The images I've posted and everyhting else are what I like to call the basic version of the map. Small tweaks aren't done yet. Thanks for your opinion on the matter, but just so you know lost temple is basicly symetrical when it comes to base locations. They have made other parts of the map not symetrical but the locations and distances are the same for all players, so that balance can remain on the map.
On closer inspection......... I suppose it is mirrored. I guess I was
thinking of SC1. My bad! Carry on.
Most of the maps are mirrored in some or all ways, because blizzard thinks it is the "stiff rod" way to provide good balance. But I do agree with you if you can get a good balanced map that isn't mirrored then they are a lot better.
