Should consider giving the doodads the ability to change their appearance randomly ONCE. So once discovered, they can try to get out of sight of the enemy and tap that transform, to try to hide again.
I thinks you should mix the teleport and random doodads change ideas and gives players a lifeline: if there screws, they can click the button (or you can have a determined hotkey) and get teleported to a new random location with a randomized appearance.
You could also add a ingame menu that allow players to changes their appearance at will when playing. Ex.: You're a tree, you get caught, you run, you escape. To avoid get caught again, you click on the little arrow to the right, a list of what you can become appear and you click "rock" to change into a rock. I don't thinks it would be unbalanced.
Anyways, this map look epic. Can't wait to play it!
I love the concept of this game I would say its perfect but i noticed only 1 thing from the video. when a player is the dead cow the bird suddenly stops moving around and that could give m away any way 2 fix that?.
the new dance button fixed that on accident. Seekers have a button that allows them to dance/taunt but apparently if you press it as a doodad it plays your doodads animation lol
Btw, tons of work, but you should be making the hiders like spectre or something that go around on the map and then cast a ability to turn them into the unit they want. Like I said tons of work. Specially since there are no icons for all the doodads so you would need to make some ui to show the units. =D
Seriously where is the song from. I know it's from the TF2 mod but they must have gotten the music from somewhere. I'm going through all the banjo music I can find to see if it's from there. Hearing all the music it sounds so much like a banjo song. It must be banjo kazooie music. Can't wait till it comes out. Will be fun to play.
Doodad Hunt is a team hide and seek type map. Two teams consisting of Doodads and Seekers will be randomly selected. The Doodads must select one of 30 doodads to play as and attempt to hide/blend in while avoiding the seekers. Doodads can be killed with 2 hits
CONTROLS (READ IT MONKEYS!)
Left Click - Attack as Seeker. Adjust facing as Doodad.
Shift - Slowdown (Helps Positioning your Doodad)
Right Click - Spectate other Doodads on your team if you die
1 - Dance for Seekers. Plays Doodad Animation if your Doodad has one
I completely second that, randomizing the doodads that are placed around the map that are of the same design as the hider's doodads. Eventually it will get to the point where it's impossible for the hidders because the seekers will immediately know when something is out of place. It would be a lot of extra work but I believe it would add to the long term survival of this map, which right now seems super fun.
Yea, I've been trying to think of the easiest way to handle random doodads. Some of them would be more difficult than others because the direction in which they were facing would be important, but something like a cactus or tree can face any direction w/o really changing anything.
Would it be possible for this to be news'd again? Since this is open beta and all; it takes a long time to have people join the group, and now that is open and if its news'd then perhaps more people would know/play it ^.^
This map looks awesome, i hate Blizzard for the US/EU system, i cant play this map on the eu server, i can upload the map for you on the EU server if you want.
Interesting take I'd say.
Yeah, all the good maps in EU have fallen way off the list now.
+2349023423098 for banjo music omg! =D

You could just make like 6 little sections on the map and randomly pick one to play every game.
Oh also why don't you make it 3 rounds already??? It stinks when it takes forever to get that group and it ends after those 5 mins =/
