I am currently working on a multi part cinematic sequence. I present to you my first creation in the protoss line. Each race will have 2-3 videos and there will be 1-2 final conclusion videos
First, I would suggest using more camera angles. Cut, cut, cut... make it faster and more angles. Then also use 3rd person camera, meaning stationary (compared to the unit). Also increasing the movement speed of the dark templar will make it seem like he is charging/rushing into combat and pulling a frenzy. Also adding battle sound effects would be awesome. Perhaps even some visual 1s (screen turning red for a split second. Just like shooters when you are getting hit and it flashes in red). Oh and change all the text at the beginning and end. Edit the text in photoshop and make it seem more professional.
I hope you don't take this the wrong way, I am just giving you advice to make your good video even better.
Thanks for the reply. It was pretty much my first cinematic in vegas. Ill probably combine the first and second part of the protoss videos and make it more professional on that part.
While cutting and the likes is a good thing to do... don't discount the long-take either. In today's world of Bourne movies where everything is CUT CUT CUT SHAKY CUT SHAKY CUT... a longer scene can really have a deep impact (no pun intended). But if you can find a way to chop it up that highlights certain parts of a battle... that's the best thing. Otherwise you have to make sure the entire long-take is interesting.
Either way, I'm still really impressed by your use of camera angles/rolling for a first cinematic. My cinematics are usually quite static ><
i'm sry, i didnt like it at all!
the camera perspectives are wierd, the animating is clumsy, the terrain is bland, its mostly not makes any sense what u r doing there
also u misspelled the title on your yt vid -.-
(i wouldnt have commented, but since u r on the front news i thought this must be something great... it wasn't, sry, not wanting to disencourage you)
I fixed the youtube title. (facepalm moment) Like i said this was my first attempt, i personally like my camera movement, in regards to not much sense i am working on that. I am adding a little beginning part to give more ideas to it.
Anything and everything. I can add you to a PM that i am using for when i give out an updated version. Which there is one right now. I just don't like showing it to the general public until im ready, i learned that from this release.
