onetwo for doing an awesome machinima trailer for 2.0
TKC for the amazing new terrain look n' feel.
Mephs, data editing, programming, planning.

Just a teaser for now. 2.0 will change the face of the game completely. What to expect in L4Death 2.0?
Full scale campaign just like the original game. Traverse 3 areas of the city in 3 seperate rounds (take turns playing each team each area!). Scores will now carry over to each map
Shorter "maps". Each area will be much shorter in length, no more long, tedious survivor run to an anti-climactic ending. Each twist and turn will be packed full of action and story advancing events.
Swarm greatly increased in strength and spawn times greatly reduced. Less time sitting on your thumbs as the swarm team. Now you'll spawn more frequently like in the real game, using similar spawning mechanics.
No more fixed cameras. Enjoy full control of the view of the map as both teams.
Sub-objectives reward your team more points, but require a detour from your main objective (the next area's safe house).
Now even if you wipe as the survivors, you switch teams, but the game is not over! You'll start anew when the next area begins (just like in the real game!).
Brand new terrain and cinematics (see screenshot)
A "Witch" character!
A new playable swarm unit based off of the Jockey!
New mechanics to how the Behemoth spawns
The zombies will now move much, much faster, and only appear when slimed or during dramatic crescendo events.
New "traps" to look out for. Car alarms that attract the zombie hordes, exploding terrain objects, and more!
New Lurker mechanics!
Stay tuned. L4Death will finally be what the original vision was, to bring the l4d experience to an SC2 custom map, 100%, and then some.
I quite enjoyed the first version, so I'm very much looking forward to the second. The list of upcoming features / changes looks great, and the trailer was quite well done, nice work!
To all ppl who liked the video...plz credits OneTwoSC for the video. He did a really nice job. And as for ppl who don't like it. I'd like to see YOU do better. I can't even make a cinematic for my games. I might as well consider that the 3rd best cinematic that I've seen for a game. After all. It's not a movie. :D
To be honest, the trailer does not make any impression for viewers. Overuse of game dialog
This.
My thoughts:
The game overall doesn't really look appealing. I'm all for zombie apocalypse type games but it just does not seem to fit right from a strategy perspective. I'm not saying change there camera lock or anything though. I know a lot of people like this game just from looking at the popularity. Again this is just my opinion.
If the game isnt appealing to you why are you posting at all?
Its a teaser.....
Im guessing the cinematic is from in-game...... (its not for a cinimatic contest)
Hey mephs, Im impressed your still at work on this. Back when I was last testing with you, you sounded like you were starting to get sick of it, and you were getting pretty discouraged by the popularity system. Glad your still sticking too it though. I play a game every couple nights. Its a fun way to kill time.

- The video is the trailer of the map, like there are cinematics as gameintro.
- The screenshot is the first iteration of the startingarea so you can see how the style of the first map will be.
- 2.0 doesn't mean it's a bit revamped with some new terrain, there are a lot more changes which will make the game more dynamic and fun. If you don't like the first map you may like the new one though.
I'm sooooooooo looking foward to this .. release now plx
The video, overall, was nice but I thought it would have been a lot better (as stated previously) with less dialogs. Plus the ultralisk turning 90degrees was kind of weird, IMO, it would have looked a lot creepier if he would have come out of some fire/steam/shadows, then the light would have gone out 2-3secs (you hear gunshots/ultralisk screams), pop back up (you see the ultra about to slice em) light goes out again and you hear the screams and you roll the map's name .
If the game isnt appealing to you why are you posting at all?

What is your issue? Every thread your hostile to whoever dares speak their opinion. As I stated twice in my post it was just my opinion. Giving opinions to map makers is good some times to improve their game. I realize he's not going to improve it just because of me, but I was just giving my opinion. Please calm down, jeez.
Fair enough. Man you guys are hard on me LOL. Well, I was trying to make use of some dialog because most map trailers have subtitle text or lack any characterization at all. Obviously I can't get voice actors (proper ones) without some money; but we all know the mapping world is a moneyless one. So i had to make due and add in some little dialogs while the action happens. I mean the trailer is mostly action so I don't think some dialog hurt it.
But yeah I think the issue is that people want a gameplay trailer and not a cinematic trailer. Well, gameplay trailer takes 10 mins to make so you'll get one eventually. The cine here was just to be something cool made in SC2.
Perhaps also I'm getting too movie-ish with this trailer whereas I should have remained more like my previous trailers. Who knows, it's tough to understand the public. After all, people loved and love nexus wars for like 6 months straight.
But most people seem to enjoy the trailer so that works for me :D
Edit: And yes the cinematic is from one giant trigger ingame that I ended up re-editing later with sound.
I thought you did great OneTwo! :D Although, I never said any feedback. So, here it is.
I would have rather seen the ultralisk seem more large, so I was thinking maybe you could make it slower. Also, you could've made this trailor like A LOT of other ones where it shows the cinematic and then it transitions into short 5 second replays of the best parts in the game. You can do that part when the 2.0 is officially done. Also, those infested terrans suck. Why didn't you use the infested civilians? Well, I guess that's about it. Good job! :D
Yeah I think the camera angles on the behemoth were far away so it made him seem smaller; I'll probably use closer shots next time, you're right.
He hasn't got 2.0 going yet; the terrain is being done and all the new features, but come that time there'll be a gameplay demo... which a lot of people probably want.
Also, what infested civilians? I totally missed that those even existed. I just saw infested terran and used it... well I'll go look at infested civilian when I get home.
Ya, infested civilians were those zombies from the campaign. If you type in infested civilian or civilian in the search bar, there should be 2 pictures (pick the one that doesn't say Infested civilian burrowed) of odd looking zombies that don't look anything like infested civilians in the icon. (Blizzard still makes bad icon pictures that can look like something completely different) Anyway, those zombies would do a lot better. They not only look more suitable, but they even have a melee attack AND the animation for it. Try it! :D
Wow how did I completely miss that. Hmm actually I think Mephs changed them in the map and that might be why...
And to jerberson12: Because the name Left 2 Die was literally the letters/digits that blizzard chose exactly, and they need that to publish on bnet; thus he needed to change his map's name slightly.

I hate the name and the video really didnt impress me.

I half agree with Zenx, the name is dumb, video was cool though. I liked the use of voices.
I was half thinking of doing a l4d remake in versus mode, looks like i dont have to. This really does look cool im looking forward to it :)
As said before I think you should just move on regarding the whole name issue. This map is good enough to make a name for itself, imo.
And VERY nice video. I like how you really make use of lightning and camera effects.

What's the problem with Blizzard about the title "Left 2 Die"? I dont see it different from "Left 4 Death?

Oh I could nitpick the video all day but honestly he volunteered to make something for the new release, and I think it's fine :D
It doesn't show real gameplay of course, but the goal was to spoof the original Left 4 Dead trailer:
