Also, Blizzard will most likely have to approve which maps are eligible for "Premium" status. It would act as a safeguard against people getting rickrolled/conned into fake maps. So, you as a map maker probably wont be able to decide "Hey, I think I want to charge X dollars for my map".

Didn't blizz initially intend to support this? Is it supported and I haven't seen it? If it's not currently supported do they plan to?
How's valve going to make money off their rumored dota project?
I imagined it more or less like the iPhone app store.

I'm not really sure what you're talking about O_o
I know that blizzard discussed the possibility to be able to purchase more storage on their serves so you weren't restricted to 10MB total.
And I would imagine valve will make money on their possible DoTA game by selling it on Steam, just like they do with all their games?

At blizzcon 2009 blizzard talked about having a built in system to sell developed maps.
Atleast that's what I remember, I could be wrong, but it was suppose to lure in actual developers instead of just the player base.
Lawl any real developer would make thier own games... and trust me nobody is gonna pay for custom games on here that would be a legal nightmare
Valve is making thier own Dota With IceFrog is how the rumor goes. Kinda like League of legends. League of legends btw is amazing and free to play
The Marketplace will be where people can charge for Premium Maps. This should be out sometime next year.
@BasicGear:
As Sixen Said.
