Legacy of the Heart of Liberty has been put on hold for this short, three-mission campaign to be released. It follows the story of a highly specialized Protoss fleet sent to eradicate enemies on a worldship orbiting Aiur in order for the Golden Armada to proceed unchallenged.
I'll need testers for these missions. PM me or reply to the thread if you want to test or have feedback.
Mission 1 is officially online in the first full release! That is, there aren't any pesky bugs, especially with that wave system. I will be starting work on Mission 2 soon. You'll get a first look at the protagonist, Praetor Hanoth, in the second mission.
So, I played the mission but sorta fucked myself over.
Halfway into the mission, there were a bunch of expos I could take but none of them had space to actually put a Nexus on. By the time I realized I needed a warp prism to complete the mission, I was already mined out with not enough minerals to do anything at all. My army was huge and nigh unbeatable but completely useless in the end since I still couldn't finish the objective. I had to reload a save.
Perhaps make it clear that this is, in fact, not a destroy-everything map.
Also, there was a sudden massive lag spike right as I went to free the preserver. My rig was running at 10 fps on medium settings. It lasted for about until the preserver was freed
I didn't get that lag. It could be due to the computer sending a whole bunch of units, since the waves become much larger after you destroy the prison.
As for an update, Mission 2 is out! Mission 2 is a more lax one. You can sit back since it's pretty epic to watch the Nerazim allied AI and Moebius enemy AI battle it out. I usually just sit back and watch the battle but I've beefed up the enemy AI so you don't end up doing that the entire time.
Actually, the lag started before I destroyed the prison where the Preserver was trapped in and the lag stopped after I freed him, when the attack waves should have suddenly become bigger. Really, it happened when I destroyed all the buildings on the first island.
It was almost as if they were trying to rebuild those buildings but couldn't and errors were piling up because of it. When I destroyed the prison, there must have been some sort of trigger where all of the AI units were told to ignore their current orders and start sending bigger attack waves. I could be totally wrong as I didn't take a look at the triggers nor the AI. In any case, I didn't have this problem until after I killed those buildings.
Edit
So I played mission 2. Pretty straightforward and was able to beat it in 15 in-game minutes. I could probably push for 10 if I wasn't playing it safe.
The hero Phoenix is overpowered since its energy regenerates basically instantly, it has two sustain abilities, and an offensive spell that does around 300 damage up front.
The Arbiter was a nice touch. Stasis was a very effective spell to use when pushing into a base. You can stasis a group of units and push into a missile turret to destroy it. Now there's no detection against your cloaked squadron.

Yay!
P.S. It's only in beta because I still have to fix the special effects with particles and explosions.

The Project Page looks a lot better now and the screenshots should look epic enough to capture people's attention...

Your Phoenix and Scouts are still pretty cool.

Haha that's good. I didn't intend to make the mission too hard in case the Nerazim Protoss was overrun, because if their Nexus dies you lose.

Mission 3 is out and the campaign is finished. I'll be releasing WWBitT later this week, at least as soon as I finish the third mission.
