I like that your top cliffs have a different color palette than the lower cliffs. I would probably make the top cliff bases more distinct from one another by adding more green to the expasion base. I would turn these linear walls at the top into manmade cliffs. I would add more lowest terrain cliffs at the unplayable areas.
Yeah you can send me the map. It would be a good practice to get into sc2 mapping again after a long time. Here's a link with screenshots of my sc2 maps: http://www.outsiderxe.campaigncreations.org/sotx.php Should have it finished by sunday at the latest.
When I'm adding doodads do you suggest turning symmetry off? I notice that some things require edited doodad settings and that sort of thing.
Also, would you suggest using broken cliff edging on all cliffs and when using it do you edit the height at all?
Use broken cliff edging where it looks natural and cool, but don't us it everywhere. In fact never use the same visual pattern (mix of textures and doodads) twice. Divide your map into sections (e.g. an expansion or a road) and work only on that section until it looks great. Then move on to the next section, try to make it look (at least a little bit) different and work on that until it looks great. Don't go into the doodad editor, select a doodad and place it wherever on the map. This will create very similar patterns and make the map look very dull. Creating unique looking sections also helps the players orientate as they pan the camera quickly across the battlefield.
Since this is a multiplayer map I would also not overuse doodads, as they can become quite distracting. Study blizzard maps, especially the ones with the tileset your are using.
Lovely very good use of doodads also when dealing with non city environments you want to use the high tool.
Ohhh and dont use symmetry when placing doodads. It fu...........everything. Start working on one side of the map when you feel happy with your work then copy and paste it to the other side.
Hey I'm making a 1v1 map and am looking for feedback regarding aesthetics. Looking for critiques, suggestions, etc.
Here on some pictures.

I'm also curious if there are people out there who are willing to take up a map and finish the aesthetic aspect of it.
Thanks.

Love to see melee maps, you need to play more with thetextures and doodads. Try this link click on the doodads and mix and match to your terrain.

Is this too many doodads?

It's only 1 portion of the map is this is pretty much the doodad density around the border.

is it proper to add some shape to the landscape for multiplayer maps?
