Hi all, I havent been able to get many people to try out this map of mine. Its a melee with absolute fastest resources. I dont know the best way to get the word out for people to try it other than to post the name and category of the map for people to look up. the name is: F@stest-Possible Map.
some info:
1. Supply increased from 200 to 250 {tried 300 made everything to laggy so 250 works good}
2. Resources are as close as possible to starting points
3. Gatherers carrying capacity increased and flags changed so they do not block each other at resources.
I did not buff any unit cost as the money increases so fast its not an issue.
If anyone could please check it out and give suggestions i would appreciate it. the only thing i know i did wrong was i made the bounds of the map way to big its a big map but i still think its fun as hell. give it a try please. thanks all.
As for your map, my honest suggestion is to aim high. Making a fastest map is a decent enough starting point, but you shouldn't necessarily share first maps with everyone else (assuming this is one of your first). People reply when something is unique, eye-catching, inspired, cool, or noteworthy. You won't get the feedback you want from a fastest map. After all, you didn't even provide pictures.
Now for a new topic:
This is a map review forum. I'm lenient with the categorization because there's no forum to specifically request feedback, but at some point it becomes awkward.
In other words, instead of just letting this thread eventually die by flowing off the first page, I shall change the topic:
This thread is now a debate on what the Map Review forum should be.
I think we need a "realese" forum where people can post specifically about releasing thier maps.
and then the "review" forum where people offer reviews of other peoples maps.
the "project workplace" should be where feed back is recieved.
Though the "team" section offers its own set of forums that would be best for handling feedback, though its pretty hard for players to find the "team - forums"

I don't think "release" and "workplace" should be separated in function. The function of "release" could very well be a composite RSS feed; it would not be a forum. Project Workplace should be renamed to "Workplace and Feedback" or another equivalent if the function of feedback is assigned there.
Then the Review forum needs a reevaluated purpose; it is not to offer random feedback, it would be to actually review a map. It would not be intended merely for the benefit of the mapmaker, but for the benefit of the community. This is a subtle difference that is not easily conveyed without a "READ THIS FIRST" sticky post that nobody will read, but it may ultimately be necessary.
While it is strictly review, we could extend it to be the place where people can talks about map instead of General chat. We does not have a place for that. Mapster has been so focused on map developing so far.
when will people get that fasstest maps simply not work in sc2?
i tried it myself already with a pretty good system and a perfectly symmetric terrain etc..
you cant just copy the terrain like it was back then, set the minerals and kinda copy&paste it 1:1..
srsl it does not work in sc2 anymore, think of another way to make some fast maps but not the bw style.
i guess i dont understand what you mean in your post Patch....the symetry in my map is off a little but not to bad,but as far as game play and the way a fastest map is supposed to work i think its ok...me and a few friends played on it and it seemed ok no real problems of any kind...i guess i just dont understand what you mean by fastest map dont work in sc2...mine seems to work ok other than the fact on me and a couple of friends are the only ones who actually use it...but it really doesnt matter much it was just an experiment in making a map. anyway lemme know if you have some input on what could be done to make a fastest map possible for better playability.

Oh dear, another Fastest Map Possible.

Id rather you guys worry about the search functionality on the forums more then anything else.......
I want to search for
"Unit Actor" with out it searching out the two different words I want the literal string.....

That was my edit. He typed "chech out this map", so I corrected him like an iPhone would.
Edit: He actually did fix up the page somewhat, so I changed the title to reflect that.
there we go screenshots and info...sorry guys i should have added this stuff from the beginning. My bad. LaterZ
