Hi to all, I've finally decided to make my own Starcraft Brood War remake (there is already an excellent Starcraft 1 remake and another in the progress, so I've chosen Brood War). I'm already on good progress in terms of maps, and JonnyTheWolf, the one who made beautiful terrain on Rebel Yell and Overmind remake by Ultraling and Jones) is helping me on terraining the maps with more detailed terrain and doodads
Features
Original techtree from Brood War (no SC2 units/abilities will be used)
Original mission recreated using W3ZMapedit and Legacy converter, for a perfect recreation of the map shape
All units, buildings and resources in the same exact location as the original missions
Original SC1 briefings and briefing room for every race Original dialogs Original SC1 music Original SC1 sounds and voices Majority of units/buildings recreated by matching the SC1 style Original units/building size, movement, speed, pathing etc.. using SC2BW mod by Maverck as base mod
Differences From Original Starcraft:
Different cliffs (impossible to replicate them, different size) but close as possible as originals
Different terrain: of course more detailed and better!
Each faction will have his own decals (Dominion, UED, Kel-Morians etc..)
Automining like Starcraft 2
Unit/building selection like Starcraft 2
We are looking for:
- Someone who can recreate from scratch the missing maps, since the completed maps are done with Legacy converter, and I can't replicate space platform and installation scenarios due different cliff size (see above which maps I need) Someone who can work on the maps by putting briefings (like in original SC, like for example those used by Jones and Ultraling for their remake)
- Someone who can work on cutscenes, camera, triggers, dialogs etc..
- Someone who can convert Project Revolution models to Starcraft 2 and apply a better skin (look at Maverck's works on those models if you think those models are not good....)
- Someone who can work with AI (possibly similar to the original, but improving difficulty for easy scenarios and balacing those too hard) Modellers and skinners

when I hit edit it shows me the text exactly as I see it now. I guess you want proper lists and all that stuff? I'll see if I can edit it now, then take a look at the text and see how the wikicreole markup works if I do manage to edit it (Dont have much time)
You can change the markup type to BBCode just below your post in a drop down menu (BBCode is used by every forum I know, its the thing with the square brackets) That should help in the future I believe ;)
EDIT: There, fixed part of it, can't be bothered to do the terran and zerg lists (no time really), but just edit your own post and see how I did it :)
This is interesting. I plan to do something similar to this after my current project, so this definitely grabbed my attention. I'm an avid fan of original StarCraft settings and a big disliker of SC2 atmosphere. This would be a great opportunity to get myself familiar with things to come.
If you don't mind I would like to try to make AI for some(depending on how it goes) of protoss missions. Let me know if you're interested.

when new zerg buildings will be ready, can we install them as small mods to original SC2 (via adding new MPQ archives with new zerg buildings) ?
Of course, IF they will be ready. It's so difficult to find modellers who can help with projects....but I don't surrender. Brood War reforged will be out, this is sure
Correction: I *helped* reworking some of the Terran maps. The rest is all Ultraling's doing I believe. Heck, I haven't touched the Zerg missions because I thought they looked already good enough.

It contains all Brood War maps terrained (no doodads, no details) with units placed in EXACT position as original and remade cliffs. Maps with installation and space platform tilesets are missing since I'm not able to recreate them. Feel free to re use them for your projects/remakes. They require SC2BW mod by Maverck (excellent mod)

To be fair I don't think that anyone will continue this project as you envisioned it. What you have done so far - converted BW maps with the help of Legacy converter, was a needless work. You see, the exact tile by tile remake of layouts and units positioning won't do BW any justice. These two games have different engines, and what may have looked cool in BW will look small and out of place when remade in SC2. Most of maps you have posted in attachment would need a complete reshape. Right now only their minimaps remind me of BW missions, when I look at terrain and layout itself, I begin to wish I hadn't looked at them.
If you want this to be done, do something yourself. Remake a mission, and post it here so that we can see what you're aiming for. People will see that you also can do some work and might want to help you. Right now, looking at OP I see "I want to remake BW, I need people who can remake BW for me while I do nothing". Want it done? Don't hold back and start learning editor yourself.
I have less and less time. And I don't want that someone make a remake for me, but for ALL. Since it was stupid to throw all this work (even if simple) in the waste, i decided to upload. In the past I've witnessed many cool Warcraft 3 projects canceled, and no models/skins/maps etc... released, simply faded away. I prefered to upload it instead of deleting it. And since now is free for all, is the choice of the people who download this archive on what do do with them: modifying, improving, crapping on it etc...

why don't you join one of the already started starcraft 1 remake project, there are some :)
Soon I'll upload all the maps I've done, so someone else can (hopefully) continue the project on his own
