Current Project is looking for a talented Data Editor
We are looking for a talented Data Editor for full Hero creation. One of our current Data Editors has had real life issues come up and are looking to fill that position. This includes Abilities and Actor work. We have about 15 Heroes that need to be created and are paying around $100 USD per Hero. We are looking for roughly a one week turn around per Hero. Standards and Design documents will be provided. Contact me here on sc2mapster via PM for more details. Please provide any portfolio items you have done in the past.
Eiviyn: Just curious, is that video demo abilities done completely through data editor or is that done with some triggers involved as well?
I wonder about that too, I don't know a way to reflect missiles with data. I have some ideas that could potentially lead to something in that direction that involve Redirect Missile effects, but the main problem is that as far as I'm concerned there is no way to calculate the new, reflected direction of the missiles inside the data editor.
If the projectiles are not missiles, but units with issued orders, I could see something like this work in data. On reflection, order the units with some persistent offset shenanigans, the reflection angle does not have to be perfect.
But I assume, for this video the projectile handling is done via trigger, and it was picked mainly to show off the actor usage.

It's all data. Everything from the voiceovers to phase changes. Reflection is done via force effects. There's 1 trigger to hide the UI elements and lock the camera onto the hero. It's also 2 years old.
Cool :)
Thanks for clearing that up, really amazing work.
Do you want to share any information what happened to the Trollobattles thing you were working on and what were the problems with the project? I wondered about that because the part that was shared in public looked really cool and I liked it a lot.

Thanks!
Are we talking standard DotA heroes (4-5 abilities each)?
Do you have every detail noted down (ie ability tooltips, ability icons)?
My data editing is pristine.
I have years worth of data editing to demonstrate if you're interested in more.
Email me on [email protected] if you're interested. I rarely check these forums anymore.
