Hello, I actually just had this idea, I haven't made a map on SC2 before (Though I know how to use the editor) I had made a few maps on WarCraft 3
No sure if you have heard of them but they include
Animal Invasion
City Defense
Vampirism Sapphire
Okay but now onto the map. I had this idea of making a sort of quest map where 1-4 people play in a post-apocalyptic earth in which they are the last survivors. In it you will be able to choose a class, such as a sniper, engineer, etc. Also you would be able to craft items with raw materials, you can gather and find raw materials, and the inventory would be a key part of the game. There is no goal set in my mind on how to beat the game, but you would basicly complete quests to find shelter and kill mutant animals and such. Is anyone interested in helping me with this? I can do a lot of general stuff, I am not really strong in any area. If anyone would like I really need people who can do the terrain, the units, and the triggers.

First of all, welcome to sc2mapster! Feel free to send me a PM if you need anything or have any questions!
Second of all- That sounds like an interesting idea. Though people will generally be more eager to join a project if they see you've gotten started on something. You can try getting some basic triggers or systems done in the mean time.

You got that signature and wants to do a game partially about raw materials and crafting... Hmm.. Gotto be inspiration.
Sarcasm aside i kinda like your idea, i had a similar one except it would be a day/night survival game without quests and instead of classes you would have a pre-apocalyptic profession such as a doctor, engineer or whatever, it still had a emphesis on scavenging, inventory items and crafting though.
Post-Apocalypse as a theme.... isn't the game set in a universe in which civilizations span to several planets, moons, and even galaxies.... hmmm that is unless you play as a civilian and not have random hero unit selection like a darktemplar, hydra, or medic...
It could be post-SC2's time period, so those things could still exist. Like, an abandoned medic or marine suit. And Zerg/Protoss could still exist. And there's always the option of calling a zealot "Human w/ Swords."
Starcraft 1 de ja vu.

Accidental double-post.
Whatever you do, just add banelings, then you'll be fine.
