We've had a member leave the staff due to personal problems, and we need another coder. You can be a part of this potentially revolutionary group and getting something really cool to add to your resume, and maybe make some money.
Here's some BlizzMaps.com history:
- BlizzMaps.com was in the conceptualization and planning stage for 8 months.
- Currently has 3 massive projects planned out.
- Awesome team of [now] 4 people. 2 modelers, 1 game designer, and myself. All members either have their degree in the relevant fields, or are very close to finishing their degree.
- Very fun team to work with.
- We don't publish maps until they're ready, much like Blizzard. We're going for quality not quantity.
We need people with editor experience, preferably with knowledge on making mods. We can fill you in on our projects as necessary. Leadership qualities are a plus, and we want someone who isn't afraid to speak their opinions when necessary. We run this like a business needs to be run.
Please send an e-mail to: Jobs AT BlizzMaps DOT com if you're interested in being in one of the very first premium map groups. We'll need your relevant experience, coding experience, degree information (if any), and at least 5 hours per week to dedicate to the project. Also write up a short bit about why you think you deserve the job.
You will be asked to sign and fax a non-disclosure agreement before being hired on. All money will be split evenly between all the staff members.
Man a lot of people clearly don't understand what premium maps is all about.
To the OP, you guys are clueless as hell if you think Blizzard's going to let you sell remakes of the original game's campaign and this entire recruitment post is a joke (you want people to have college degrees to work on a modding project, are you insane?) And Payne007, first of all open source does not necessarily mean free, and allowing people to charge does not necessarily mean it's not open source. Second, they've made it very clear that the premium map feature is for people who are creating entirely new games using Blizzard's engine - meaning all-custom art and sound assets. They've even said that DoTA would not qualify as a premium map because it used too much of the original game's content.
So really you're upset because there might be an avenue for people who invest huge amounts of time and money into creating a completely original game that happens to use SC2 as its engine to actually make some money off their project. Sounds to me like you're the selfish one.
Looked good to me for a second there. Then I realized that you're talking out of your bum. LOL.
First off, your site does not look like a "business". All of your graphics are just cobbled together from stolen images, and your forum is a joke (3/4 of the posts are made by either you or a bot). A team of professional people with a website would generally have a professional webmaster included in said team.
Second, your projects are far from original, and certainly not revolutionary (LOL). In fact, I doubt they'll even make it into the marketplace without getting rejected first for copyright infringement.
Starcraft Origins? You really think Blizzard is just going to allow you to sell a copy of their original campaign "but with new gameplay features"? What are these "new gameplay features"? No matter what you add, it's still going to be a direct copy of the original. Nobody's going to pay for something that's barely worth playing as a free map.
Starcraft 2: Team Fortress. Wow. Couldn't you have just named it Capture the Flag instead of slapping the good TF name on there?
Starcraft 2: Ghost: Rising. Why do you have to add Starcraft to everything? Oh, right. You're just porting crap to SC2.
Quote from Definition of Revolutionary:
radically new or innovative; outside or beyond established procedure
You're not revolutionary. Not even close.
And lastly, Fun ≠ Business. SC2Mapster = Fun. Bring your revolutionary business and non-disclosure agreements to a business site.

@Knyteguy: Go
Approaching a game like a business probably takes all the fun out of it for you.
Shame.

Was thinking a bit of the same as SystemSe7en, but slightly less harsh. ;o
