If you don't like code and you are just starting out, I once again recommend game maker. Its visual, so you dont need any code. Although it is 2d... If you want to make decent 3d games without code.... Use the sc2 editor :D
Really. 3d game engines that dont let you mess with code are usually very restrictive. I don't know what real game makers use though. I can promise that whatever they use requires extensive coding knowledge, though :D

I believe that the more advanced companies create their own variations of code (i.e. galaxy) which is usually very similar to C + + mixed with Java and such. If you could learn C + + (which is quite a difficult language) then you will be capable of creating a game engine. But for a game engine you will need to be good at math aswell to be able to program physics which require lots of calculating. In a real company they probably have people good at math to create models for programmers so the programmers can make it. Knowledge of a single person is simply very limiting in today's industry, it is hard to get into the whole gaming thing especially on your own. It's evolved so much you really need to have specialists focussing on different aspects. For anything like an FPS spin-off you will definetely not get there on your own if you wish to have it as good as to-date's games. But you can make a very basic game first and learn from that and keep making better games and perhaps end up at a company where you can do 'the big' things.
I would honestly drop it, you obviously don't have the attention span or want to make a game. You don't want to program, which is what 80% of the game is anyway, and you just want to go into a program and expect to be a master. Either take the time to learn, or don't try it at all. You're acting like it's too much work you and just want the game made for you.
Like said before, Unity3d is a good way to get started. The coding is abit different in the terms of how it is used together with unity gameobjects and such and could be considered more of scripting, as you don't essentially need to start from the ground up. (Language supported, C#, javascript and Boo)
Unity3d is a powerful editor and an engine too. It's also what you see is what you get, with lots of assistance of already existing features. The documentation and reference manual is all there, on their webpage soon, along with plenty of examples like making a decently realistic cargame, platformer and fps.
The license is free for windows and mac, and unity web player. For iphone, android, wii, ps3 and xbox360 it requires additional licenses :)
wanting or not wanting to learn has nothing to do with it. Since nobody won't "just make it for me" as you said, I will have no choice but to do it myself. Thing is, I am not naturally good at it. I have no artistic inclination, nor natural understanding of this infernal contraption other than I built it. I hate books and reading, I am a full learn by doing person. If I can't learn it as I actually do something and go along, I get sick and quit. I don't give a darn about game creation philosophy or how the mind of the gamer works. I JUST WANNA MAKE SOMETHING THAT ISN'T A BUNCH OF BOXES!

That kind of attitude is fairly stupid. It takes a lot of work to build a game engine even, much less an actual 3d game.
These things don't happen overnight.
You need to start small, with pointless and boring stuff, before you can move on to try something more advanced.
I know it's pretty dumb but I just can't get over it. It's a waste of time to make a square runnin around to avoid the other squares. Can't I at least make something like this?
yes you can thats easy. plus if you aren't going to sell the game or distribute it to others you can use game art from other games.
i could make that tanks game in 1 day in C# with writing code.
all it is, is collision, and changing the angle of the radian by .1 each time you key press then using that radian and power in a equation and you draw the img along the parabolas path.
thats the basic of what it was doing and can be done by you.
but you will have to know about radians if your gonna create a game that uses angles
start with rpg maker.
i think you need some game creator with fast results and alot of visual respond.
the game you linked seems hard to make, since you need alot of math to calculate the missile flights, and you seem to dont like diving into hard stuff like math and programming(programming is strong related to math).
I can get you some free software from Autodesk like Maya or 3DS Max if your a student and interested in creating art?
Oh and by the way, Reaper. A lot of programmers and artists started out with boring stuff like RPG maker. Some of us, like myself just started making small text based RPG's to start learning how a game works and runs. I'll tell you, text based RPG's even get really intense programming wise.
If you want and have the attention span, I can try and help you learn C + +, the basics at least.
I recommend reality factory; when learning the basics it's a great tool, even though it's quite old now. And when reality factory is released you'll have similar ease of use but way more power and better graphics.

grrrrr fine. goes to make the stupid clown bounce around the stupid box
Here. Make something like this with game maker's free version. Go on. Nice and simple to start with :D
Well it's better than that damn clown, lol.
omg zelda u made me get distracted zzzzzz now my heads hurting
codings fun :)
I was being serious, reaper :D
Shoo. Go. Get started. Baby Steps. Eventually you'll be making a best selling video game :D

Imma make Pokemo... Pokenom! Not at all related to Pokemon :/
Make Animon! not related to digimon or pokemon!

You have to start small, unfortunately. Otherwise you will get lost.

Try Minecraft. There is squares.
P.S http://www.youtube.com/thenewboston
He has tons of programming tutorials, Adobe After Effects, HTML5, CSS, PHP or even 3DS Max.
P.S.S Are you student? PM me if you are.

well minus all the pretty visuals to start.
