On average, how much time does it take to create something..interesting or challenging?
I dont think thats a fair question... its like asking "On average, how much time does it take to create something..interesting or challenging for sc2" it depends on what, how, mods, use of redstone, group project...ect. theres no way to say lol.
Personly just building stuff to build in MC isnt fun to me, i LOVE pvp servers, were you builds your fortresses and people can loot your chest, so you have to make complex redstone vaults and puzzles to keep your stuff safe, love that crap.
@QueenGambit, it might just be the angle, but that scaffold doesn't look wide enough for a battlecruiser to me. Otherwise, sweet idea! Show off the end result!
EDIT: oh noes, I don't get to have a pretty green border anymore? =-O
The Chichen Itza thing wasn't world-edited or even Inv-edited. He mined all the blocks himself. Theres a making-of video on his channel. And yeah, that ship is pretty freaking big!
Am I the only one that does not find Minecraft fun?. The graphics are rubbish. The gameplay is dull and mediocre. What do people see in this game..o.o
Graphics are rubbish, yes. But do you REALLY play games for their visual quality? I hope not, that would be sad otherwise.
The gameplay is dull, yes again, but only in the free version. There are really well-thought features in the full game, and it keeps being improved.
I have to agree though, that there should be more challenge. As it is now, the nights are more of a waste of time than a real challenge. It's supposed to be a survival game, but nobody does that because it's very easy to skip this part. It needs unexpected events, goals/quests, interactions with NPCs and such... then, the gameplay as a whole would be worth the 10 bucks it costs. As it is now, the most interesting part is to add mods (and cheat!) so that you can build whatever you want with cubes. I enjoy the game much more when using mods, some of them add really interesting features (more interesting than the game itself, to be honest). It lacks a storyline, for now it's just a sandbox game. Sandbox games are for casual gamers, mostly. Fortunately for us, it's still in beta and will probably feature more challenging stuff. You can read the author's blog and see what's coming next, I'm pretty sure when v2 will be out, or at least the first official released version, there will be enough for any player to enjoy this game (as long as you don't mind the graphics).
This place is 50 blocks width by 100 blocks length by the highest elevation u can go up
You can see my house down there with my Turtle shaped tree farm dome
I might change the Battlecruiser to look like an airship
@Eternal: The work itself if you had the materials and the plan, it could take as long as someone doodling on Paint. If you are on my survival, bukkit server, it could take days to gather the materials. Why dont you try it out sometime?
Minecraft 1.6 is now out and now tons of servers are out of commissioned due to the many plugins that are not compatible now. >.<
I am loosing my mind. This has happened before on Minecraft 1.5 and will continue to happen until Notch releases his damn API or blesses full mod support!
My server has come to a screeching halt. I should have notified my players to not update yet argh. I will also be playing less Starcraft and less mapping.
Sigh* just when I finished my Spawn area and opened up a farm world, this has to happened...
Its kinda embarrassing too because I even have donators for my server and now they cant even play...
...other than that Eternal, its really fun and addicting lol.

EDIT 2: And it's back.
@EternalWraith: Go
Depends if you have the materials for it or not, how big it is and whether you are using mods. Generally quite a long time though.
