SC2Mapster

I suspect that some good modders will make a balanced game which includes Blizzard's good ideas in BW and excludes their lousy ones in WOL. I think this may be so enjoyable we will see a desire for a ladder on it. The reason is after playing so much SC2, and BW (and watching matches at WCG) I have noticed that BW had much more brootalness to it. 1. The Hydra's weren't laughable 2. The infested terran wasn't a critter 3. zerg had their own version of EMP. Im not raging about imbalances or anything, SC2 is what it is, but if blizzard doesn't make an official alternative mode, a custom version may become so desirable that it may take attention away from normal xvx matches. imagine BW with roaches, or SC2 with vultures. the mix of the two would be spectacular and since all the original units will be in the map editor, i feel that unless phase 2 and fe brings something interesting to the table, such a mode may become superior, as Blizz has failed in a lot of respects to please the older fans. can't wait, and after so many replays with all these hard counter mechanics, some edge would be nice even if its just a custom mode. I may just be speaking for myself, but if my little zerg swarm had a lurker, or my mech build had some gollie with their thor, it would be much more interesting.
