Could be better, for example fix some events (enter/leave range of unit) etc.
Or adding an event that when a behavior is added to a unit, though this should now be easily done by effect checking. :) That's actually good news when thinking about it.
Also, I thought they would change the bad battle.net joining system and add chat channels -.-
I think you're underestimating the difficulty of fixing bugs in a grand-scale project like Sc2.
Or do you want them to patch like they did in beta? A patch every week, but every second patch utterly fked up something.
YESSSSSSSSSSSS YESSSSSSSSS! I CAN FINALLY ADD DAMAGE TO UNIT WITH TRIGGERS!!!!! this has been a pain, messing around with behaviours.
Also good that no more custom shit variant!
BUT is there still no chat channels? Didnt see it there and what about the popularity system?
Overall here is only stuff that should have been in the editor first place! If the popularity system doesnt change, Im afraid making maps is just stupid :<.
I like the part that says "Fixed issues with file depenancies" and the part about them fixing the "custom" game variant stuff, also they said the player leaves game event should fire correctly. Oh and the part about enhancing the custom game search functionality sounds interesting.
this sounds like its might be a rough patch when it comes to converting your current maps, since they changed effects to have new fields and made changes to the game varients.
"added action to deal damage from unit"... do they mean you can now virtually (not like the units are really fighting) let one unit's default attack damage a unit?
Basically it's like the Add Effect from Unit action.
You can damage a certain unit and give credit of this damage to another unit. So if the damage is enough to kill it, this other unit will get the kill.
"Fixed an issue where loading complex bank files would cause the client to disconnect from Battle.net."
Woot no crashes anymore? :D Maybe... even... more space to save? D:
If this patch works out well I might even weep in joy.
Great, I patched and now it wont let me use the editor until I connect to battle.net which now I cant do for another 2 hours because they had to extend the maintenance. Never should have patched. Now I cant work on anything.

AW HELL YES!
"* Added a trigger event when an effect executes." I've been looking all over for this one. : )

Good patch for us mappers.
Not everything we wanted, but still a few good things.

You can see they're about 3 pages, so i guess paperwork took roughly half that time

Its only enough when we can play god with it.
Scrap that, i just want it to make maps for me :(

Looks like they hit a bunch of needed stuff

It's a shame theres still no function to return cursor position eh? =/

That's not gonna work with crazy mouse position, this is not an arcade game.
(though i would prefer action that simulate user command, like the select unit for player ones, so i can simulate click only when i need position)

Let's hope it mean more than 8kb
I'm downloading the patch now. This is awesome. I love the fact there are so many editor changes. :)
Confirmed 3.8 MBDamn it i got recursive loop
Edit: 12.9 MB
Hope there is a fix for player position in lobbies that I looked past when reading the notes or that is undocumented.
After that, you'll get a 16+ mb patch. :D
And then you'll be fully patched.
"Added new requirement types: Odd, Divide, Mod, Multiply."
Hell yes, this specifically allows me to re-enable a feature I had to disable because of the limitations of requirements. Awesome change.
"An actor event is now dispatched when a missile cannot hit its target."
Another glorious change.
"The Custom game variant is no longer automatically included when other non-default variants are defined."
Fucking cherry on top.
Good fucking job Blizz, this is great progress.

I was wondering what those requirement types are. Which area of the editor does it concern? Triggers?
Requirements. Data.
