Warcraft IV, a game expected by many ones, seems to be far away. Since many products are in developing by Blizzard, it wait would be longer. When one door shuts, another opens. The powerful SC2 Editor came out, that one can create delicate games by just using it. Blizzard seems to say "Wanna Warcraft IV? Help yourself!" So I did it The RTS gamne mod on starcraft2 arcade, WOW RTS: Alliance and Horde. I prefer to call the by short "WAH".
The is not just a map, it is completed implemented as a RTS game, mod of models, textures and sounds are referenced by expandable melee maps, and it reached 245M, which means I use 2 account's upload space and further will may be more.
Game Features:
1. 2 factions: Alliance and Horde, 14 building 16 units and 18 heroes and over 50 creeps.
2. 3 melee maps now: Lost Temple which made in Bloodelf Style, Crossroads that copied from WOW and Ashenvale that full of Nightelf style.New melee map could be added smoothly.
3. Complete AI system for skirmish act as players.
4. Many WOW features, region, units and abilities are implemented in a RTS game. You can see Undead Rogue or Bloodelf Paladin which in early WOW times, and also can find Padaren Monk, Thunderking, Malkorok that in recent WOW version.
Develop Stories:
The ideal came from ten years ago, when WOW came to Beta. For I did not have any account, and did not like just watching others play, I decide to use Warcraft III editor to create my WOW, and really get start on it for 3 months.
But it did not finish, after ten years, I have new ideas on it. Since Warcraft IV is far away from me, just like WOW did ten year ago, why not use Starcraft II Editor to create one? This time, I am with 8 years of coding and design experiences, more important, with a stronger will, I made it completed.
I was also resign my job and dedicate myself into this game. I am very serious. 2 Month ago, after 6 months working by spare time, I realized that I must focus on it and made it perfect. and it is also helpful to transfer myself into game industry.
I will still put myself on this project for a long time and with a huge plan, if Blizzard permits, I will even make the Burning Legion faction that not appeared in Warcraft III, or something seems to be more crazy.
PS:As a 12 years warcraft fan, in my game, every hero, unit, region and ability name is treated seriously. Designs are also follow the Warcraft and WOW style.
Books I got my design ideas from:
The Art of Blizzard
DK: World of Warcraft Ultimate Visual Guide
The Cinematic Art of World of Warcraft: The Wrath of the Lich King
hope your success on tl will blossom into many regulars playing it (do nourish them, because "regulars" are the life of your mod even if you are its soul)
if you ever want maps (terrains) for your mod, do ask, it would be a pleasure to do some for it
ps (you should embed the pictures in your post, not just link them)
Congrats on getting exposure on your mod. I guess from now on I'm posting stuff on teamliquid...shit, 120k views almost already?
Filesize is a huge issue with your mod though. I would seriously suggest finding ways to reduce the size. Converting sounds to .ogg and using .dds textures rather than .tga.
Add team colors to models by editing textures. The team glow is painful on non-heroes. I even have a guide on how to do it.
Structure team colors are quite bright. Tone down the specularity and download my roof textures.
Wireframes could be improved. Middle row that is white are an example of what can be done.
Overall, I like the idea and get all of the hard work you've put into this. There's still quite a lot you can do. However, my biggest attraction were the spells you have. The models to me feel like they were just hastily thrown together.
First of, very well done! I saw this mod on the husky channel and I played it right away. Of course there are still things that could use some improvement, but i guess its still work in progress. The thing I like a lot is the recognition of so many WCIII and WoW. 2 games I played very intensily.
Anyway, the first thing, in my opinion, that could use some work are the battles. Like Daara said, its hard to track which unit belongs to whom and where they are all located. If you can improve this, a hugh step is made imo.

GL and keep up the good work!
How is it game-wise? Speed and microwise, any space for them? That's great but what I'd really play is a remake of War3 4 races in some map :)
