I am not quite sure if this is the right place to post my question. But anyway:
I own the German Version of SC2. So the Editor is also localized in english. This is especially a problem if you watch/read Tutorials and try to make functions and stuff. They even localized standard stuff like if-then-else or for (wenn-dann-sonst , für jeden...), this is freaking stupid as every developer uses if then else, if its in germany, japan or usa!
So my question is, is it possible to download the language file as its own? Or do i have to download the full 7gig english client again? If somebody of the english client users could share your language file with me as i've seen the option to change the language in the editor.
"Wenn, dann, sonst" isn't something the German localization team came up with, it's a given standard in Germany - like it or not. Just fire up German Excel (or other localized programming environments) and you'll see what I mean. However, I agree that localized triggers can be pretty complicated, especially if you are used to english ones.
To answer your question:
You could force the localized editor strings into your client, but I wouldn't do that because you would need to modify the MPQ's - which is against the end user license agreement and Blizzard could close your account for hacking.
I suggest downloading the English client. You can install it along the German one, they won't interfere with each other. I am using the same setup (German/English GB).
You can use Ctrl+D to get the english function names but it's not that optimal. I ended up using the english version as it's impossible to use it in french :)

had the same problem because i wanted to play the campaing in german but the german editor just sucks xDD
so in the end i installed the english version :P

Yeah ;) But i want to see the people installing Eclipse in german language.
Anyway, if there's no other way. I'll download the EN Client then.
Thanks for your help!
