Is it possible to directly edit the official campaigns and does it prevent the unlocking of achievements if it's done? I ask since I like tinkering with maps sometimes, however I want to know if doing so will prevent me from ever getting the achievements I've yet to earn.

You can edit each mission, but then it will be just a custom game without any achievemnts.
