Don't mean to get anyone into trouble or anything, I notice someone mods campaign maps and release them as Legacy of the Voids,
already up to it's 4th map, is that ok?. I mean isn't there some legal mater about moding campaign maps or something.
The reason I am asking is because I am also working on my own custom campaign,
and thinking to mods WoL and HotS final maps and include them on the final cut.
It would be bad if turn out the project and my id gets a banned hammer 'cause of legality.
There was an incident in WoL where someone modified and released the campaign maps to support co-op gameplay, from what I heard, he was asked to take down the maps. Unfortunately I cannot find any confirmation of this, although I am pretty sure there was a blue response in the thread.
I cannot say for sure, if such maps are being banned in general, but there is definitely a risk involved, especially if someone reports it.

No offense Küken, but this sounds like codswallop to me. It makes no sense. Why the hell would Blizzard release their campaign maps to the public so openly and then crack down on people who mod them? Especially after their release of Left2Die, which could easily inspire map-makers to create similar scenario's out of other campaign maps. I'm hard-pressed to believe that Blizzard will care about any of their campaign maps being modded, assuming the "Don't import HotS assets into a WoL map" rule is followed.
@EDHRIANO: Go Some people plan them to be played offline, overriding the original campaign, in order to use all the campaign structure, Hyperion, mercenary and unit upgrade menus and so on. But it has be in offline mode, I guess if blizzard detects someone playing with these files online it will cause a ban because it can be considered cheating (to get achievements).
But your case is entirely different, and I have seen campaign maps in the arcade. I never heard of campaign maps being removed from the arcade. And in fact even my HoTS custom maps were republished by another guy and blizzard allowed those to stay.
I'd say its yellow light. Do it but be sure of what you're doing.

Yeah, could be total BS, my brain is unreliable at times.
So... errmm ... is that a green light or red light?
