I'm creating this thread to help the SC2Mapster Community move forward. (F.Y.I. stop the arguments) The problem currently is that the popularity system is not perfect. I think we can all agree with that. Now from there your either wanting a fix (flamers) or you want to wait for blizzard (Allies). Now in sc2mapster there are these two groups. I basicly want both sides to accept the others view and then the two groups work together and do what they think is needed.
Pick to Flame Blizzard
Purpose is for flamers to come together and work to get blizzard to fix the problem. (play nice)
Pick to Ally Blizzard
Purpose is to help mappers get by with the current popularity system until its fixed. (play nice with flamers)
For Flame Blizzard People
Basicly post in this thread that your a "Flamer".
Your side has a good point but there is no need to be mean about it. Figure out in a different thread (1 thread) what you guys and do and us your thinking caps.
For Ally Blizzard People
Basicly post in this thread that your a "Ally".
You guys are going to need to have some strong team work to move sc2mapster forward with the current popularity system. Not an easy task.

This could turn into another battle thread. I need you to maker sure that doesn't happen.
I'm not asking you to be strict just to make sure we stay on topic. (I realize the community likes the current enforcement level and I'm not asking for a change)
I don't understand why we these two schools of thought have to be mutually exclusive? Why can we not put more effort into supporting the community and helping them make their maps better, while simultaneously attempting to push a community developed system for spotlighting maps?
Supporting the community will raise the quality bar for maps overall and playing eachother's maps will make them popular.
A "Map of the Week" idea will take the resolution out of Blizzard's hands and put it in our own, then we don't have to wait for them at all. And I assure you, Blizzard supports the community coming together to find solutions to issues such as this.
I agree that on paper your idea works great and makes great maps that can be popular. Although the problem from any flamers view is that their can only be 13 maps on page 1 and unless their map is on page 1 no one is going to join it. (FYI flamers declare map is not playable) Being playable is a issue for flamers. Like you said yourself on my Marine Protocol Thread.
I really don't want a division. I'm more aiming to get the community working on the areas they want to see grow or change in. Obviously not everyone is going to read this thread so I my goal is to get the majority of the community on the same page instead of all the "debates".
Hey did you like that? I worked your map right into my reply. ;)
Be careful that this thread doesn't become another discussion about the popularity system. I appreciate the effort, but if the topic strays I'll delete it.
Please keep this in mind as you read/post in this thread :)

That's the whole purpose of flamers is to fix that issue. (in a non rude way)
We can't divide the community into flamers and allies. We all have good and bad inside us. We just use each one in its most appropriate situation.
