Any suggestions specifically? How would you like to see it organized? I would like to do a forum restructure when we get the new look, so... Very soon!
Artist thread needs subsection IMO.
I would like to see Modeling Section. For Model Makers. I would like to share toughs with other people. But Artist Section looks to general for me.
There are textures, icons, models, other shit between. Even requests are there; http://forums.sc2mapster.com/development/artist-tavern/2171-looking-for-a-terrain-artist/#p2 .
Nothing wrong with this post, I just want to point out that there are too much posts in one section that can be sorted better.
Make main sections and then subsections inside them.
Look how hiveworkshop is organized for Wc3.
And this isnt and insult, just an suggestion. Not negative but positive, coz lots of people today are just realizing things wrong.

Cant wait :) .
EDIT: oh also, when listing maps, rating could be ok. Well when game comes out at least. That helps to sort out the maps. Really good search system is great.
Also, good maps should be promoted somehow.

As far as Map Listing goes, we have a much cleaner database at http://sc2.curse.com, with map ratings and such. I'll get a redirect up at like sc2mapster.com/mapdb or something.
Smaller icons please. It's confusing and annoying to see people post 1 line of text and the post taking up 500px of height because of their enormous avatar. It's made worse when people create banners. It's just very difficult to look at now, there's too many intruding elements. I'm not sure about the background either (background of this post). I have decent eyesight, but I know people who don't that would have difficulty reading this because of the background. The distortion of the background also makes it difficult for people with dyslexia to read (or, more difficult than it has to be). The background is already a texture, the white stripes overlay just makes it worse. I don't really need to know people's join date, post count, maps or assets. That info should be at the profile, not taking up space in topics. The actual functionality of the forum seems great to me.
If you don't want to use a free forum package like phpBB, then please do better efforts to make it simple and comfortable to read (which is the main function of forums). It's a shame to have a valuable source like this be "ruined" by an unaesthetic design.
Please don't take this as me being pretentious or condescending, it's just that frustrating to read at this forum.
I don't want to jump to the newest post when opening a thread. Just open it @ Page 1, Post 1. There is a button to jump to the last post, so there is no need to make it automaticly. :|

This is off section post.
More sections ? better organization/navigation/sorting ? Improved forum visual layout ? Updated weak forum script ?
Just tips. for me, its hard to see new post in forum I posted, I didnt post, no new post... etc.

You know what Sixen? Add these:
Thread Subscription (User CP)
Find Posts from User
UI layout for GUI
Also, the Markup Type is annoying me.
Member since 2010. Made the -The Thing- [Revival] game. Nostalgic of the WC3 days.
You can select which Markup type to use, though. Unless that's what you're referring to. I find it handy.

TBH I like this forum how it is, nice and simple
Simple is good. But middle is better, coz when you trying to make things too simple they become too complicated.
User friendliness is best feature of any forum.
I dont see icons legend on the front forum page neither online members list on the front page. Both of that is quite useful. Legend specially.
Online user list would be useful. I don't really think a legend is needed. It's green if there's new posts, it's grey if there isn't, :P.
I'm fairly you can move your mouse over most of the icons and there is a text box saying what's up.
I was also thinking it may be cool for a 'Location' field next to users' posts. Its always nice seeing where fellow mapmakers are from.
That wouldn't be a bad idea. Though we do have the account system to see their server if you fill in a bnet account name.

We're redesigning the skin, so you only have to put up with it for a little while longer.
As far as user info, that's how most forums display user info: in the post bit.
Seems like profile page is quite weak, or I can find proper one. There is almost no info about user.
