So, for a very long time many people have been abusing the "Click the Claim Boom button before game starts to get an extra boom bug" ...
So imagine my surprise when this new little hack *cough* surfaced.
The two "hackers" in this are people I play with regularly and are real assholes (srsly, I should upload past replays, they make me look like a saint), usually every insult is nigger/faggot and I am 99% sure they are on my blocklist hence the lack of chat.
So, we have a super high popularity map which has not been updated for ages and now has two major "hacks for benefiets" in it ... Will this change anything? Of course not, cause this is what happens when noobs make maps and then noobs abandon their projects and the popularity system will not allow any better "fixed" maps to come up.
Seriously, with this out now WTF am I meant to play? Fuck this shit ... fuck Bnet 2.0, fuck the whole system.
That's what med school does to you. And you lose interest in working on the same map after a while.
Gonna have to let the community and the popularity system sort this one out. Such a game breaking glitch will cause it to dwindle in popularity.... eventually.
I don't get it, what's the bug? Saying "fuck battle.net" doesn't get anything fixed, it makes you look like a child. More information would be nice and very mature.
I think we all just need to chill...Dogmai, learn to control your emotions. Try understanding the position of others and putting yourself in their place. Like tordecybombo says, some people lose interest in map making because of other real-life issues. Doesn't mean they should be absolutely banned from playing games. You have to understand this is a game, and it's not just made to suit the hard core crowd that plays it day and night, 7 days a week.
Also, I approve of what Sixen says on how it doesn't fix the bug and how more information would be nice - No comment on the "maturity" and "child" parts. Take a look at this issue through an utilitarian point of view. What's wrong? Does it need fixing? How could it be fixed? What can I do to fix it? - Rather than "This isn't working, fucking Blizzard and map makers are idiots". Because, wouldn't you agree that it does nothing but make you more angry and look at the problem as if it was bigger than it truly is? It doesn't fix anything and gets you all worked up and makes you waste precious time, wouldn't you agree?
EDIT: Though I absolutely agree that the hackers are annoying and are ruining the game. If anything, it's their fault.

Look at the mineral count of the players, they are recieving more minerals than you should be and are able to share those minerals with each other. They are destroying their probes, most likely using a hotkey to respawn their drone + mineral count ... no dialogs are shown on their screens so I presume without looking at the code it is that ... however - even if I wanted to waste my time searching the source code for the problem, and even if I found it, it would not mean jack shit mate because I can't fix it (edit their map) nor can I even publish a new version of Desert Strike that can compete against the current system.

Not emotional. I was pissed off at the system (popularity) - which, the next day was announced by Blizzard that Patch 1.5 is coming. So either A) I have shit timing, or B) they announced it because of me ... I go with A, as always.
I was not pissed at Blizzard nor the map makers, it is the system, get it right ... (And the DS map maker is a noob cause he abandoned his project over a year ago and didn't release the source nor allow anyone else to update it, except for one update made by another person to remove the errors after Patch 1.4 which also introduced countless other bugs), if you are going to stop work on a project you should at least release it to the community.
if enough people start abusing bugs the map will drop in popularity eventually. thats how the system works. but it wont work as long as only 1 or 2 people are cheating
there is a website in the loading screen, doesn't the creator answer there?

Clearly this is something they've had planned for some time, you're not the only one to have complained about it over the last two years, trust me.

I wish more noobs would make maps so we could have a bigger community...not on dogmais watch?

Sadly there will always be players that don't know about this issue and play the map anyway.
Basically first page + interesting name + easy to play = popularity
Popularity + well polished and fun/addictive map = even more popularity :P
This is how the whole games industry works.
I'll check it out and send it in.
