So I started a tower defense project 4 days ago (first map in any editors, so it's a bumpy rode) and am probably about... 2/3 done. However, it is made for SIX players, not one. Is there any way to playtest my map with me + 5 people even though Bnet is down or do i have to wait till beta phase 3?
crap okay =/ I know giving player one 6xNormalStartingMinerals would MOSTLY be balancing it, but since people have different incomes due to kills, it wouldnt be totally accurate
isnt there gonna be another beta phase before the game releases or do i have to wait a month and a half? =/
I've been doing my testing in single player by controlling the other slots (ally setting > full control, or something like that). It's definitely not optimal and your scripts have to be made to work in this fashion.
In a recent interview with Blizzard executive vice president of game design Rob Pardo, Kotaku had reported that Pardo and the entire Blizzard team had already agreed on “No LAN” for SC2, as they considered LAN as “not much of a deal” if they happen to leave it out of the game in the final product.
Wow.. that's kindof stupid IMO. It doesnt seem like LAN capabilities on a game that already has internet capabilities would take any time at all to make, make them want to charge any more money, or take up any more disc space. And as popular as this game is in some places (ex. korea) no LAN is a TERRIBLE idea. But better no LAN than no internet i suppose

Unfortunately, there's no way to test maps multiplayer without Battle.net right now, :(.

Beta Phase 2 will go up before the game goes live.
ill miss you Lan :(
Wait wait wait, there won't be Lan at all?!?!?! I can understand no Lan in the beta, but there's gotta be in the final game, surely!
See, i'm not sure... I saw a LAN option in the Press Build last month.

Normally I wouldn't think it such a big deal but with the bnet system they have now I think it's a majorly big deal.
For tournaments alone this is crazy. Can you imagine ESL or MLG having a massive tournament and oops, Battle.net is down. GG.
For tournaments they will just use an emulated bnet made by blizzard (like emulated servers for WoW)... I guess.
I don't see that happening. Though, i'm not exactly sure what they'll do...
As far as I know, there are no working bnet emulation done yet. That would be useful for now though ...
whos working on? emulated servers...

Those are illegal, I don't see any coming that get popular, :P.
Ah whatever. We can still bother them about it until they add it into an expansion though.
Not necessarily. Blizzard tends to care for their income more than their players sometimes. However, they might afterall, who knows
