My hard drive died today (The one with windows on it anyway)
a. thank god i dont install any programs on my c drive
b. thank god for my storage drive's and my SAN where i keep all my downloads, document and information.
Sad day though i was not backing up at all so i have to re-install everything. so my weekend is devoted to getting my computer back in shape and re-installing everything. I was hoping to finish the main menu for my map this weekend but that's not happening.
I had a 2tb drive from newegg still in the box i ordered it about a week ago to increase space on my server, i was going to use that but with my luck i installed it and it proceeded to make loud clicking noises so i have to RMA that back. I had to go to best buy and pay the same price for a 1TB as it cost for a 2TB on newegg =/ what can i say i needed a C drive in a hurry. so im writing this during my driver install and windows update hopefully i can have some time Sunday to get my project moving again.
I feel ya. My computer that handles starcraft well had 'both' hard drives fail recently. Now I'm stuck using this computer that, although its 5 years newer, is crap and can barely run the game.
Hardware failure sucks. Good luck, hopefully it doesn't sidetrack your project too much!
About a month ago, I got home and there was no power in half the upstairs of my house. Turns out, my computer's power supply blew up, blew a breaker, and I had to replace it before I could get power in my room, -_-;.
Then I had to buy and replace my power supply, :|.
