Jones has been hard at work on this, and he is now getting. huge publicity from Husky. The first campain was first by Ultraling, then reworked by Jones. Also congrats to Maverck for making the mod that are the base of this map.
Hey now, Ultraling made the maps, I just reworked/finished them.
Dude, you did make the Episode II maps. :)
This playthrough of Husky's is really awesome. I'd want him to post videos of the entire campaign. His run through Jacobs Installation made me LOL. By the way, those Youtube embeds aren't working, or maybe it's just me.
This seems nice. I like the briefing room a lot.
I'd like to point out thought :
- The portrait's mouths are not moving both in transmissions and briefing room. That removes a bit of the immersive effect.
- You need a better terrainer. The map is just made of corridor and the map and ways are shaped like a square. Does not really mimic the Blizzard's standards, so you don't feel like you're in a blizzard-like quality map.
- I'm not sure Battlecruiser's portrait is best fitted for Duke.

- Lip Sync: There's absolutely nothing we can do about the lip sync in portraits. Blizzard hasn't bothered to include such a feature in Galaxy Editor... yet.
- Terrain: Are you talking about Jacobs or the entire campaign as a whole? I thought the terrain was awesome, if not at least good. We've had several people run through to add polish to the terrain. You're setting the bar pretty high on this one.
- Duke Portrait: I used the BC portrait as a placeholder during the beta period. We still haven't gotten a good Duke portrait. What alternative do you suggest?
- You actually can, by toying with the sound editor. Send me a pm if you want to know about it (actually working in my Orbital II map)
- Sorry if I was a bit harsh, but I really loved SC1 campaign (better than SC2's) and I'm putting the bar pretty high as you said ^^
- Well, MaleCivilian with a light oldening skill and a change of background could be cool. Or to aim at a different style, but with similar character traits, we got the Marine2... I think it's pretty hard to choose but the best would be to have a decent skin of a portrait. It's just that the "Old Bastard" traits that is duke is not really found in the BC portrait.
Hmm, reskinning would involve handling an art asset and I'm not really adept at that. I could change it to Jackson's Revenge (BC merc) or Siege Breaker (Siege Tank merc) because they're more sinister looking, but neither of them as aged as the BC portrait.
Hopefully somebody can come up with an awesome skin/portrait for us to use, if we go that route. I admit I can't produce it myself.
Overall opinion about campaign remake: it's just a port. A carbon copy of the original SC1 campaign, and the SC1 campaign is... pretty awful. Every mission in it is basically a melee map with some talking heads.
About the FPS view in Jacobs Installation: Sorry, I think it's an abomination. If you really want that, at least give the user the option to play in in RTS perspective. Blizzard should have never shown that ghost TPP map during blizzcon. This engine is not made for FPP/TPP stuff.

Dunno if it's because I'm retro but I actually find the original build and destroy model very fun, especially if the AI has some kind of advantages over the player to keep things fresh. Some may agree. Others think it's outdated crap. To each their own.
Yes, it's all just a fancy port of the original. But, that's all I really wanted and I think this project is a hell of a lot of fun to both play and work with. 8) The overwhelming amount of support that this project has gotten all came out of nowhere and it still surprises me how awesome the SC2 community is.
I had a system in the works which would allow players to choose between TPS and RTS perspectives on the briefing screen. TPS is a fresh way to play through the scenario but it's still kind of clunky. Without RTS elements, the installation scenarios lack intense tactical phases they used to offer and becomes a run-and-gun.
By the way, really dig the briefing screens your team worked on. They're awesome. <3

Perfect, video footage, :).
Moose != Ninja
but ya I beat you :D
nice :)
Yes! And I'm really surprised by who's casting it too and from the looks of things, he will play through the whole thing.
"G" for Academy hotkey is wrong I think.
Husky is hilarious playing these.
We're still ironing out the bugs.
mission 3 before he dies "maybe if they gave me a medic *high pitched voice* THIS WOULDN'T BE A PROBLEM"
EPIC lol

Here's how you make the lips move (finding the right animation is a pain).

Getting a 3D artist is always easier said than done. I will work on updating the next version with lip syncing. I wasn't aware it was possible. :)
