Yeah I suck at ladder I think I got matched up with one of the pro players and he spanked me so hard it wasn't even funny. Then he proceeded to explain that I should go to WoL and play there instead because I'm wasting the pro players' time. Lol yeah it wasn't fun so I just sit in the editor and screw around now :)

Just got myself into the beta today and had a few hours to poke around the available assets. Figured I'd show off my initial test maps.
I'm not completely happy with any of the out-of-the-box tileset packages, but once you start to mix and match individual textures they can do some incredible things. Can't wait to get my hands on the full list of assets.
EDIT: And one more. Not exactly playable, but it looks nice.
You make the most beautiful little scenes, Tel. Loving all of that in its own way.
It looks like Blizzard REALLY picked up on this idea of 'deepness' in RTS, which I think is great. They added it to Diablo 3 too. It's a big step in aesthetic development I think, and I'm glad they're making it - love these looks.
Those looks frickin' awesome, Telthalion. I like how good the Korhal Platform looks combined with a wintery feel. That last one is my favorite, though.
I liked those images of yours. They all seem pretty chaotic, different and misleading, like if you were in a dream or something (Particularly the Terran air platform with ice on it.). I particularly like the Protoss doodads, they catch up the style pretty well, although I oughta criticize those korhal buildings. The kinda lack normal mapping of a sort. Makes things hard to kitbash in a later future.
Btw, how do put those different types of lava in my map? I understand I gotta download and import, but what files do I import, and where do I go from there?

Was that first picture inspired by the HOTS opening cinematic, by any chance?
The water looks really awesome in this great use of the lighting. If you go to the link in the previous page and navigate through the models page you'll ding the colored lava. Download and import it. Then go to models page and switch the char lava or something to the imported lava. Hope that helps.
Also make sure you put the textures for the colored lava in Assets/Textures after you import.
Im working at the moment at remaking that Heart of the swarm Opening Cinematic, with cameras etc... It is not yet finished, but that are some, "Alpha" Screenshots of it, i don't know if its the right thread for it, buts its also a showcase, i would say. (And so sorry for my bad english :(( )
I had to add some things that aren't in the Cinematic (Like that "STOP" Shield etc in the back) because otherwise it would be so empty and unrealistic..
Yeah this thread was intended for everyone in the beta to do some terraining and show it off but I guess too many are playing ladder :(
They should have enabled the arcade. I know the beta is focused on balancing ladder but hell, not everyone who got a beta key wants tp ladder.

Problem is SC2 is pvp orientated so they get all the perks but if you look at it they probably never touch the editor or ever will.
Anyone remember the fruitlings blizzzard promised us to celebrate the one guy winning the ladder? Never seen em.

That jungle looks amazing!.. I mean even more amazing than the other stuff which is also amazing. I wish I was good at terraining :(
