I know i have only done one wte but wanted to say i am still interested and hope you dont stop doing this. I just have had other things going on lately plus its football season. But i do plan on doing them still when i can. Plus im having trouble enough trying to terrain my melee maps.lol
Thanks man. I am pretty new to terraining but it is pretty fun to do! Yours is really good too, it has lot's of detail. How do you get the blur effect?
Someone told me mine was really dark but it's kinda what I was going for; a dark scary lab. If you ever played Quake 4 thats kinda what I was going for.
I did "ok", but I didn't think mine was put down all that well. I had to restart from scrathc to get a better result. I'm proud of my second submission though. I'm hoping I do better on my first try in WTE #15...speaking of which, I wonder what Mozared is cooking up for us next excercise... XD
Someone else told me how to get the blur. But you just create a camera (press C to go to the camera menu thing) and then when you create a camera, double click it and the settings you want to play with to get the blur effect is:
Depth of Field - Amount
Depth of Field - Depth
Depth of Field - End
It'd be better if you just experimented with them since I don't know exactly what each one does x] I just play around with them till I get something I like. But you have to have graphics on ultra to see the blur.

And speaking of which, let me remind everyone that I'm always open to suggestions. I can't come up with an interesting theme every week, so if you've got any kind of idea, please PM it to me. About three or four people have done so so far, and I think I've used all those ideas. It's not like I've got a waiting list of stuff lying around as some might think, I usually end up making something up on the spot tuesday afternoon.

You'll most likely get more suggestions if you make a thread in which people can post their suggestions.
This is not a contest, there's no need to keep potential themes secret.
Good call, actually. I've been wanting to write a consolidated post linking to all WTEs for ages, and I might incorporate this into it. Thanks for the tip.

Woah lol, I really thought you were just an endless well of awesome ideas. I'll try contribute to that.

I might have a few ideas that you can look at and morph into your WTE's.
1) The Motherload! (create a mining terrain)
2) Painting a Picture (only use the terrain painting tablet to create some sort of art)
3) I'm still stuck in this chicken outfit! (create a terrain that shows off an army of marines in a formation)
4) Eat my Dust! (create a gas or fuel station terrain of some kind)
5) It's so good to be the King!!! (create a terrain that shows off your dream castle or fortress)
6) (NEW) Lights out (create a terrain located in a dark scene)
I have more ideas, but these are just to get you started. :D
